Randomly picking up Holiday Hauls, Giveaways and Sales galore!

November 21, 2009 Paris B 12 Comments

weekend

Saturday!! I’m going to the dentist today for the semi-annual dental check up. Reminder to get yours done too!

Joined the Madara Giveaway yet?

If you missed it, how about taking part in the Madara Giveaway to win some organic skincare? Depending on what you pick, the giveaway is worth between RM48-RM148! Its not hard and you might end up with a lovely year end present! 🙂

Random Search Query of the week

I noticed a few searches coming in asking “can i take loose powder cosmetics on plane” and “traveling with lip gloss on the plane” which led them to how I pack cosmetics to carry on board the plane. The quick answer is anything powder goes without question. Liquids like lip glosses are of no problem so long as they are under 100ml and the total does not exceed 1 litre. Easy math eh? 🙂

And for the few queries I received, metal lash curlers posed no problems whatsoever for me. I doubt I’d be able to hijack a plane with a pair of eyelash curlers – “Take this plane to Peru or I’d crimp your lashes so hard they’ll kink!” hardly poses a threat eh? Especially once they find out I use the Shu Uemura eyelash curler which doesn’t kink lashes anyway 😉

Some weekend sales

Crabtree & Evelyn has their annual sale on 19 -22 November 2009 where you can get 20% off storewide. There are also some nice GWP (A 3 pc hand therapy sampler set worth RM75 with purchases of RM120 and above for the 1st 20 each day of the sales and/or a teddy bear + 7 pc travel size set for purchases of RM800 and above after discount).

Stage Cosmetics starts their year end sale with 15% off storewide excluding the new Burlesque Ball collection. Time to pick up that Stage Wonderglosss to try? 🙂 Sale on until 3 Jan 2010.

The Year End Sale starts this weekend too – most stores in Malaysia go on sale at this time till the end of the year so there’s never a better time to get Christmas shopping done. Or just any shopping come to think of it! 😉

Facebook Fan Page Updates

Finally I’ve figured out how to work Facebook! Well some of it anyway – I’m a Facebook dummy 🙂 So I’m going to put up some sales info on the Steals and Deals photo page of the MWS Facebook Fan Page as and when I come across any. I guess it would make it easier to find it all in one place so be sure to check there if you’re on Facebook.

Holiday hauls!

I didn’t do much damage to the wallet this past holiday in Japan. Picked up lots of affordable winter wear for the parents from Uni Qlo and a nice light velour parka for myself – so snuggly and comfy! Also some pretty camisoles and a pair of what was labeled as “skinny jeans” but which were just “fitted jeans” on me. They were on sale and cost me something like 1,990 Yen (about RM75). Super comfy!

And I splurged on senbei (Japanese rice cracker snacks) which I love. Realised they are about the same price at getting it here 😛 So no more guilt trips about buying senbei from Shojikiya or Isetan! Yay!

And finally, my sole cosmetics purchases were the Esprique Precious Holiday Makeup kit (You can get it for RM99 at Isetan The Gardens, KLCC and Lot 10 – cheaper here!) and Tsubaki Shampoo and Conditioner (can’t recall price). Both of which I’d never tried before this. All in all, not too bad 🙂

Happy Weekend!

Well I’m not sure if I want it to work when I have no access to it! Haha… 😉

Ooooh I love Uniqlo! Bought quite a lot of stockings, socks, and PJs from Uniqlo stores when I was in Japan. I call it Japan’s GAP 😛

    Hi Paris,

Oh, you’ll love the Tsubagi conditioner, the softest conditioner I have ever used (so far) and I love the smell. You can buy online here, cost about Rm46 inclusive of delivery for about 750ml.

    cheers,
    lemon

    Hi Paris,

Opps…sorry, just checked the Tsubagi conditioner is 550ml and not 750ml.

    cheers,
    lemon 😉
