Idle minds are the Devil’s workshop

September 11, 2008 Paris B 7 Comments

Or how to empty your wallet when faced with a site outage 😛

First of all, my apologies to everyone who tried to access my site and found it no longer existed. There was a problem with the server which my host worked hard to rectify and I think its all alright now. Some comments earlier may have disappeared (and a post or two did too) so I duly apologise. That was due to a server migration and I can’t retrieve them. So, thank you for your patience and to those who dropped me emails to find out what was happening, thank you too for your concern! 🙂

With my site down the whole of yesterday, I was left to my devices picking up on work slack but hey, there is only so much boring work to do before I ended up surfing around. Being itchy fingered I ended up picking these up online:-

They are Givenchy Prisme Again! blush/highlighter in Crazy Pink (US$25) and Clarins blush in Rose Petal (US$15) both picked up at 50% off from StrawberryNET.com

where the offers are on-going for a limited time. Both are brands I’ve never tried nor ever thought of trying so I’ll be quite interested to see how they fare.

At lunch time, I was out at the OE Jewellery store and was sorely tempted by a lovely delicate pendant. To my surprise the price was within affordable range but I didn’t want to whip out my credit card just yet, because I’m still thinking about it. I also saw these rings:-

  • Save

Approximations anyway. They were emeralds and diamonds set in a white gold band and I loved how they winked and sparkled at me on my finger. I love green so emeralds were a natural choice even if its a May birthstone and I’m not born in May. Was it a sign that the rings fit like a glove? 😉 I’m not really one for jewellery but these really grabbed me.

However, I found myself gasping for breath at the quoted price so I resignedly put the rings back after daydreaming a little 😉 I may go back for the pendant though since its quite affordable. It’ll make a good birthday present to me 😀

Hey, when you buy OE…just remember to ask them if you want to get a new one made at the same size (if the one u tried is the exact size) coz it’s a different price altogether if you’re not grabbing it off the “shelf”. I went there to scout for my wedding band but the whole thing kinda turned me off.

Btw, was reading your Benefit post, I went to try Posietint..omg so awesome I’m so getting a bottle!

hi, i bought the Givenchy Crazy Pink too, and yes, from strawberynet.com too. i bought mine earlier and have received the item. I am not impressed at all with the blusher. Even tho it looks like it has got 4 colours, however, after checking the actual item, found that the colours are very much the same, after application it’s very ‘goldish’ on my face. too much sparkle too for my liking. so the item is at the bottom of my stack of cosmetics now. 🙁

You evil temptress, those blushes look so pretty!

If you are crazy about diamonds/jewellery, you NEED to know about the bi-annual jewelery fair. Merchants from HK, SG, India etc come show their stuff at KL Convention and prices are about half price of what you get at normal stores here! Also, the selection for gems and designs are amazing. Will email you the ad when I get it 😉 I think they normally happen around October and March.

@YS : Hi there. Pity to hear the Givenchy blush isn’t working for you. I’m not expecting much honestly, after reading some reviews, but I just got itchy fingered lol… I’ll review it once it gets here.

@Monstro : eeks! No, don’t tell me about the jewellery sale! 😛 No, tell me. I’m not that crazy about jewellery but a girl needs her diamonds and bling! And October is excellent for birthdays! haha…

I saw a similar pink-toned Givenchy blush palette at the branded fragrances & cosmetics warehouse sales I was at last month…

I tell stories on Instagram @parisbmws

An “I’ll be out all day and need my makeup to An “I’ll be out all day and need my makeup to stay on” look 😅 Super simple and using stuff I already own. How many do you recognise? 😅

For the base I think the key is the Nars setting powder which is basically a silica powder. Many brands have similar white powder for setting. I did this same look yesterday and it barely budged/faded by evening. Only lipstick needed a little topping up 😊

And this is about all the makeup I can handle these days 😂 no eye makeup cos I can’t be arsed 🤪

Excellent good fun! 😆 Your eyes always want more than your stomach can handle. Ate a lot and bought even more food back home. Diet? What diet? 😂
Will have to admit that this serum from @drsambunt Will have to admit that this serum from @drsambunting had me curious about Azelaic acid. It’s a pretty good serum for brightening if Vit C isn’t quite your thing. It’s a 4-in-1 combo of pretty potent ingredients.

Posting for posterity because I like this photo 😆 Also hello! 😜

It’s interesting that when I meet people they always ask me “Are you still blogging?” which tells me they don’t read my blog anymore (cos if they did they’d know I am lol! Weekly generally, but still writing) Yet I don’t blame them because a lot of social credit is placed on one’s Instagram presence. This I fear, is an area I am lacking. I pop in every now and then, share stories that are totally unrelated to what people follow me for, then wonder why they unfollow lol! Other times, spider webs gather in the corners of my unused account. I don’t blame them. Not everyone wants to know what my dogs are up to 😜

Anyway I make no apologies. It’s ok if you follow. It’s ok if you don’t. It’s ok if you’re interested in stuff I do. It’s ok if you’re not. Life goes on for both you and I and ultimately, we just both want it to be happy. So do what makes you happy 😊 I’ll still share my beauty finds and I still blog once a week. I may share what I’m up to from time to time, or I may not. I can tell you that I’m keeping busy and that I have a lot on my plate, none of it glamorous unlike that of most content creators/influencers. It’s too boring for most for me to share here so I’ll just share the good bits - as Instagram intended 😂

But if you want to find me, you’ll know how 😊

The review for the product is somewhere on the blog mywomenstuff.com
Yes I know many of you are terrified of lizards 🦎🫣

But I liked this sunscreen - for the body. Even though it left a white cast. Even though it is hard to remove. It kept my arms protected through a weekend of brutal sun exposure and I survived without burning! ✌🏻
