MAC Cosmetics A Mei collection

January 11, 2008 Paris B 4 Comments

New from MAC Cosmetics is the A Mei collection which garnered a lot of interest amongst fans of MAC, fans of Taiwanese pop princess A Mei and fans of makeup in general.

The packaging for this new MAC collection features the traditional Taiwanese tribal art which is colorful needlework. Something much like what you see on the headband in the picture above. I think its pretty and unique. Definitely adds some character to the packaging thats for sure!

There are 2 3 color eye palettes – neutral and bold. Neutral features shades of brown whilst bold features a bold shade of blue. I reckon that’s the colour used on A Mei’s eyes above. I’m just surprised that MAC has shrunken their palettes down to 3 colours. They previously had 6 then 4 colours and now only 3. Sign of times to come?

The lovely red lipstick is Ruby Woo a matte red lipstick and there is also a neutral coloured lipstick – Siss. There are 2 lipglasses – fuschia pink Love Rules and light gold She’s a Star.

I’m no fan of MAC Cosmetics but I’m happy they decided to do a collection on an Asian pop celebrity after doing other stars like Diana Ross and Catherine Deneuve. The collection is limited edition and available on MAC Cosmetics. I’m not sure when it’ll launch in Malaysia. Maybe they’ll bring in A Mei to promote the collection?

Hi there 🙂 This is already available in Malaysia – I checked out the MidValley Megamall store last weekend. Got the bold blue e/s (Freshwater) as a single, as the other 2 shades in the palette didn’t really appeal to me. E/s palette costs rm140, single only rm57 🙂 Lipglass around rm60, lipstick I’m not too sure though. Hope this helps!!
