Oh hello there, it’s October and that means, giveaway time! Hip hip hooray!
Regulars may have noticed something missing this year from our regular schedule. Yes, we’re missing the MWS Reader’s Choice Awards which I’ve run for 2 years now but couldn’t this year due to various reasons which I won’t bore you with here. Perhaps next year, it’ll make a comeback. Maybe, if I grow an extra arm or two… feel free to volunteer your services.
But what also happens at around this time every year are giveaways 🙂 I don’t run many on my blog, as you will notice. I save them up for special occasions and October is always very special for me. So there’ll be a few giveaways lined up to thank you for sticking by me all this time, despite the lack of giveaways and interactions others have with readers 🙂
I’m not telling you how many there are or when they’ll appear. You’d have to keep your eyes peeled and stay locked into one of our update channels (namely Twitter, Facebook and Instagram) because there maybe some that are just blink and miss! Don’t say I didn’t warn you 😉 This giveaway is hosted by me and sponsored by me so I’ll be giving out some gift packages of various items, all of which will contain at least one personal favourite.
Kicking things off is this Tantalizing Trio which can be worn in all seasons (I take care of both Northern AND Southern hemispheres!) and is therefore, naturally open WORLDWIDE! Hop along, you know you want to.

Describe one popular food or dish where you are living right now: I currently live in Cincinnati, OH. The most striking local dish IMO is Cincinnati chili. It is a kind of watery, somewhat sweet (they add cinnamon and nutmeg to the sauce) chili and serve it over spaghetti noodles with beans, onions, and tons of cheese. It’s definitely an acquired taste.
What makes you return to MWS: I love the variety of posts on MWS. I enjoy reading both beauty and lifestyle/travel posts. I also like the “interactive” posts where you will pose a question to the community and give your opinion as well (e.g. BB creams. :P)

1) A very popular food dish in KL is Bak Kut Teh. It can be eaten for breakfast, lunch and dinner or even supper. BKT is pork ribs cooked with herbs and peppercorn in an earthenware with a lot of soup. It is eaten with rice and other condiments such as salted cabbage and Chinese fritters.
2) I like MWS because it is fun to read and it is very current. I also like the product reviews.

I am living in JB. My favourite is satay! (Yum) and laksa. And the other day, I had a chance to eat satay dipped in laksa based satay sauce (heaven).
I’m subscribed to this blog (for YEARS now), so its become my routine every morning. I get the email at 9am, read on my way to work. I just love how you can see Paris’ personality and sense of humor through the posts.

My all time favourite will have to be goreng pisang!!!! Deep fried banana fritters that is simply indulging and delicious! Especially the type that the outside is crispy and inside is sweet banana… yum?
I came back because this is the first ever beauty blog I followed! I learned many things here, started enjoying buying skincare and makeup and although nowadays here isnt as many products reviews as before, it is still a dear place to come back every now and then =]

Salted egg (Ham Dan) chicken is a very popular dish in Klang Valley and it is one of my favourites. I do love anything with salted egg though like prawns and squids. LOL.
I always return to MWS because I trust your honest product reviews very highly. I also love the way you write and your long detail reviews.

Hello!
I live in Kerteh, Terengganu and my favourite food here is Nasi Kerabu! I love the “blue rice” with loads of sliced up veges, all sort of spices (esp budu!) and salted egg. 🙂
I start my day reading your blog and loving it because you give an all rounded review of beauty products and I gotta admit, you made up my mind to purchase some of it (ie Clinique Moisture Surge). Keep it going girl!

Char kway teow, or “stir-fried ricecake strips” which is a popular food in pasar malam of Malaysia. It’s also my favourite. It is stir-fried over extremely high heat with soy sauce, chilli, egg, prawns, bean sprouts and chopped chinese chives (Oh I like bean sprouts and chives, add more!). I personally prefer duck egg than chicken egg, with an unknown reason.
I always love the way you write your review in a naughty, fun and creative way. Most of the products can be found in Malaysia, with price mentioned. And you do comparisons between similar products! I had learned a lot, thank you Paris B.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – Nasi Lemak springs to mind. Nasi Lemak sambal sotong even better uumph! Nasi Lemak sambal sotong petai (loosely translated – coconut milk rice with chillified cuttlefish and Parkia speciosa (aka bitter bean, twisted cluster bean, or stink bean [thanks wikipedia]) – absolutely delicious – potential killer/leaf wilting after effects re: breath and P but for some, totally worth it!
I am a returning reading of MWS coz it’s the only blog I follow for tip/updates/justified reasons to spend $$ on skin care and make up.

Bear Paw Chinese burger that is shaped like a Kung Fu Panda’s paws at Kota Kemuning, Shah Alam. The patty is really juicy and the bread is soft like pillow.

Describe one popular food or dish where you are living right now:
Hokkaido cake from a nearby pastry place seems to be quite popular recently. People seem to buy it by boxes and they don’t come cheap!
What makes you return to MWS (if you are a returning reader) or what might prompt you to return?
I like reading product reviews for fun but the bigger attracting factor for me is your writing style which I enjoy immensely 🙂 Thank you for the many years of laughs!

I hail from Subang Jaya and the famous food here is bak kut teh. Not as famous as Klang I know lol. I continued to be a follower of your blog because of your honest opinions of the products, despite they may be sent to you by the brands’ PR. Also, I love your regular updates of the blog, gives me something to look forward to everyday.
