Hello there Ladies!
MWS Open Cafe days are one of my favourite posts because its the day that we get to do a lot of interactive chatting in (almost) real time, about anything under the sun, beauty or non beauty related e.g. I’ve since acquired a taste for olives. I haven’t had the chance to open up many sessions this year (in fact, I think we’ve only had 1!) but I wanted to slip one in before the year ended, just to do a bit of catching up, as it were.
So come right on in the MWS Cafe and share some news, gossip, or just chat 😀 Not sure what this is? Read on and find out!
If you haven’t experienced one of these, the MWS Cafe is your chance to stop by and say hi, stay and chat and just have a general relaxed time. Have a question? Pose it. It could be about beauty, or blogging or maybe about life, even. If I can’t help you, there will be others who can – we have a really knowledgeable community going on here, and I love for everyone to get involved.
Sometimes, it gets a little lonely (and quite possibly boring!) when its just me yakking away you know 🙂 Or maybe you have some ideas on what you’d like to read here or what you may enjoy or a request perhaps? Maybe you want to take this chance to delurk? 😉 The first comment is usually the hardest but it gets easier as you go on.
Have you done your Christmas shopping? Are you looking forward to the year end? Do you think the world will end on December 21, 2012? Hmm… I don’t, of course but its going to be great to wake up on December 22, 2012 and go “I’m happy to be aliveeeeee!!!” haha…
I thought this was an interesting video released by NASA on why the world will not end on December 12, 2012. That NASA has to come out to debunk this theory is in itself, mind boggling 😛
So come on then, let’s hear from you in this last open session for the year. I’ll be around to chat and we’re doing this for a limited time only (24 hours or less!) in (almost) real time 😀
See ya in the comments!
Paris B
Thank you for the chatter everyone! I thoroughly enjoyed this session but comments are now closed. Do come back and join in the fun the next time we have a cafe session 😀

Hello there ladies! Just a quick question from a confused person naive in the dating game…
How is a date a “date”? What aspects qualify it as a real date as opposed to a friend date?
Paris B says
Tough one for me Hanny but I suppose a date “date” is where there you have that “more than friends” feeling while a friend “date” would be just that; 2 buddies hanging out although either one might see it as a date “date depending on the vibes in the air 😉 Guess only you will know this unless one day it comes out in the open and its an “official date”. Happy news? 😉
Hanny Daforcena says
Welp let’s just say that I was the one getting the “date” vibes. heh heh! 😀 Methinks that day was a something between a “date” date and a “friend” date. Confusing but yeah TIME TO BRING OUT TO FISHING ROD!
Paris B says
Ahhh…. you just never know you know coz sometimes, guys can be really clueless that way hehe… Its good to start out as friends. Take a heck lot of pressure off if/when it does transition 😉 Good luck and be sure to put something tantalizing at the end of that hook 😉
Hasegawa Ayane says
I wouldn’t be too fussed about labels 😀 Just enjoy yourself!
Hanny Daforcena says
And enjoy that day I did!
Issa says
Hi PB! I just wanna say Merry Christmas! Anyway, I got the notice from the post office this morning saying I have a package. I think this was the one from you (being an October winner). I’m still thinking on when I can get it because I have work and Christmas holiday is coming up and I’ll be going home to my province, I hope that by the time I get back, it is still there. And, I really do hope that the tax is not that big (impossible, hehe) …
Paris B says
Hi Issa, that’s great to know! I was hoping you’d get it soon before Christmas but if not, I hope its still there when you get back 😀 You get taxed to receive stuff?! Oh dear I didn’t realise that! I hope its not too pricey 🙁
Issa says
yup, I’m thinking of a way to get it before Christmas, maybe I’ll try to get it during my lunch break, hihi… Yup, sadly, we get taxed even if we tell them it’s a gift, etc. And the tax is bigger as the amount declared on the package increases ….
Paris B says
Oh dear 🙁 Hopefully in view of the festive season they’ll be more lenient on you Issa! 😀
Issa says
I hope so too PB … 🙂 Again, advance Merry Christmas! 🙂
Paris B says
Merry Christmas to you too Issa and have a safe trip home!
Issa says
just a quick update! I got the package already during my lunchtime! AND, I don’t have to pay anything! YEHEY!!! maybe because you did not put any amount on the box! Thank you so much PB! I just took a peek on the box because I am still at work but I am so excited to use all of them! Most of the brands on my prize are something I won’t buy because they are pricey for me, hihihi. I am so so happy! It really is a Merry Christmas for me. 🙂 woohoo!!!!
Paris B says
YAY! Thanks for the update, Issa and I’m very happy you didn’t have to pay any taxes. I’d actually forgotten about the declaration form haha so it was probably a blessing in disguise. Hope you enjoy it all and Merry Christmas 😀
LeGeeque says
Yea, this end of the world on Dec 21st thing, all I can say is, DON’T MESS WITH MY DEC 21ST BECAUSE I HAVE A FULL ON CHRISTMAS PARTY AT WORK! Pancake breakfast, BBQ lunch, high tea (we’re going to be so fet) and then we get sent home. So, don’t mess with my 21st. And no, I don’t believe in it. 😛
Paris B says
HAHA! I thought it was so funny that scientists at Nasa had to come out and make a video and explain why the world won’t end on Dec 21st. I bet they really enjoyed it though. I know I would have 😀
Jesz says
Just wanna say “Merry Christmas, Everyone!”
PB, I really enjoy reading all your post and also tonnes of contribution from the readers here. It’s already like one of my ‘to-do’ thing everyday waiting for your post :D.
Talking about ‘end of the world 211212’…I’m with you PB, best if we wake up alive the next day…well, we just have to enjoy the day everyday like no tomorrow, right!
Looking forward for some gathering time with family & friends, otherwise, some quiet ‘me’ time is also not a bad idea, still in the process of learning to enjoy every moment of life. Tough but working towards it!
Cheers…
Hanny Daforcena says
Actually, I’d get 2012 movie DVD and show it to any kid born after 2012 and told them that We survived this!
Hanny Daforcena says
wooops, tell them** (forgive the spelling error)
Paris B says
ROFLOL!!! “Yes kids, I was one of those on the ark and it was scary!”
Paris B says
Oh yes, quiet me time is so underrated. One of the best ways to pick yourself back up is to spend time alone strange as it might seem 🙂 Actually, I didn’t even know about the Mayan prophesy thing until the 2012 movie! Maybe I should go look it up and watch it again just to see what might have been on Dec 21 … if we survive it of course 😉
Jesz says
Actually I’m one of those weirdo whom do not watch the movie ‘2012’…can’t recall why since there are lots of rave about the movie & almost all ppl around me watch it…lol…must go grab a dvd soon :p
Paris B says
Not a weirdo, I promise you LOL! It was not too bad a movie as far as disaster movies go. Makes you think we just aren’t ready for something on that sort of scale and that I think few of us will really survive it 😛 Go watch it… after Dec 21st 😉
Jesz says
Will do this weekend since I’m gonna do last minute Christmas shopping…some of the order I made for the Christmas present does not turn up 🙁
Good to watch it after 21st Dec….the suppose end of the world has already pass & teehee I’m still alive 😀
Paris B says
Oh I hate it when my presents don’t arrive on time too! Darned online shopping. Part of the reason I do my shopping months in advance just in case 😉
Nikki says
Ah nothing more to say but I missed you and the rest of the girls and wishing you Happy Holidays PB!!!! Thanks for the years of friendship! 😀
Paris B says
I’m happy that we’ve had the chance to actually meet, Nikki! And you, one of the Phillippines most popular bloggers too, I bet! 😀 We’ve been through a lot the past few years haven’t we? Looking forward to seeing you in your new phase of life in the coming few months!
Nikki says
I know! 🙂 It’s either I go there or you guys come down here and this time, you’ll be seeing Li’l AMW and probably play with him/her! 😀 nice eh? 😀
Thanks for the friendship and lol on “Philippines most popular bloggers” hahahahah That’s a nice Christmas gift to me eh? hahaha (in my dreams) well , thanks to Blogging I get to meet wonderful friends like you!!!! Mwa 😡
Paris B says
Yes! Cannot wait to see the little one come into the world 😀 Oh don’t be modest – I’m sure you are one of the most popular bloggers in town teehee 😀
Issa says
yes,yes! she is! 🙂 Love her! 🙂
Paris B says
She IS very lovely 😀 If you meet her, give her an extra special hug from me 😀
xin says
hmmm i don’t think the world is going to end on 21st, but if i wake up alive the next day, i deserve a cholesterol boost 😉
i don’t know what will in store for me in 2013, but i am sure you will always be my listening ear 😀
Paris B says
Oh yay for cholestorol boosts! Grilled crabs maybe? 😉 And you know where to find me if you need an ear… 😉
xin says
grilled crabs and grilled what-nots for sure. It will be the last holiday in 2012 😀 looks like there is no more pumpkin opp for us before 2012 ends.
Paris B says
Hmm true, no more pumpkin. Oh well, there’s always room for pumpkins in 2013 😀
Jacqueline says
Hey Paris, I just waned to wish you a merry Christmas! So what is your favourite lip colour?
Paris B says
Merry Christmas to you too, Jacqueline! Lip colour? I’d say red but to be honest, I’m more of a rose-red because its just more wearable daily than a straight out red 😀 What’s yours? Incidentally while I’m typing this, I have on Laura Mercier Rouge Lacque which is…. a straight out red >.<
Jacqueline says
I love my reds, especially the warm ones or the deep reds. Can’t take glossy ones though. I’m sans makeup today 🙂 I’m at home with my DS watching Goerge of the jungle. 🙂
Paris B says
You look amazing in red, Jacqueline! Glossy reds tend to slip a little too much for my liking then you end up with the bleedy looking lips eeps! What fun it must be to be relaxing at home – year end holidays have begun for you eh? 😀
Jacqueline says
Aw… thanks Paris. You too babe. I am trying to get all my friends to wear red lipstick but it just scares everyone. Sigh. We should wear reds anytime we want. My current favourite is GA’s rouge d’armani in 400. Lovely wearable red. I just love the texture. By the way, I finally got my chendol fix but what a let down. I wanta true blue original chendol.
Paris B says
Haha we are women on a mission to make everyone wear red lipstick! 😀 I think its a confidence thing. People are afraid to be looked at because red lips are very outstanding and because so few women actually wear them out daily, its like a “Why is she so dolled up?” effect. I don’t care though 😀 You just reminded me I have a GA Lipstick too but I can’t remember if I picked up 400. I hear its one of the best reds out there so if I don’t have it, you can bet I’m making sure I have it in my arsenal! I’m also told the Guerlain Rouge G in Garconne is a must have. Another one to check out? 😉
Sorry to hear your chendol experience wasn’t as good. The next closest port would be in Melaka I believe. There’s one at Jonker Walk – 88 I think that I quite enjoyed because their gula melaka was da bomb!
Jacqueline says
I am going to hunt this tomorrow when I go to the airport. Guerlain Rouge G in Gala looks mighty enticing too Paris. So how many red lipsticks do you own? I have eight!
Paris B says
Ooh I just looked up Gala and its gorgeous! Oh my, Jacqueline! >.< Based on online swatches Gala looks a bit warmer than Garconne but they both look gorgeous. Red lipsticks? Erm... I should go and count them shouldn't I? hehe... What a post it will be
Jacqueline says
Yes please Paris, I would love to see your red lipstick collection.
Paris B says
Thanks for the post idea! It will be done… once I get my butt down to it 😀 Going to be fun!
Jyoan says
Paris, congratulations on converting me! haha. I daresay I love, and dare to wear red more often (because previously, I never), after reading so much MWS.
I am debating between Chanel Dragon and Giorgio Armani #400 for Chinese New Year. Temptalia loves Chanel Dragon madly, and I love Christine madly because her skin is similar to mine. So that’s one point for Dragon.
I have GA Pink #505, and while I love the finish and colour, I seriously think it reeks of floor cleaner. I like scents in makeup, but certainly not floor cleaner. It’s a terrifying smell to wear because I feel like I am poisoning myself. Everybody is raving about #400, but I can’t bring myself to buy another floor cleaner lipgloss… …
The odds seem to be on Chanel’s side.
What do you think, Paris?
Paris B says
Congrats on coming over to the red lip side! 😉 If I remember correctly, the Chanel Dragon that Christine likes is the Rouge Allure Lacque in Dragon which has been discontinued. Other red options you can consider are Shiseido Lacquer Rouge in RD607, Shiseido Perfect Rouge in Dragon RD514, Guerlain L’Extrait gloss, Guerlain Rouge G or Rouge Automatique, Rouge Dior #444 just to name a few more you can consider looking at 😀 There is a bit of a scent in the GA Lipgloss, but the lipsticks are so far scentless, and #400 in the lipstick is gorgeous too! 🙂
Victoria says
Merry Christmas in advance PB and I am really glad I stumbled on your blog as I have learned so much from it and also discovered other beauty bloggers through your website.
I have actually bought Kiehl’s Ultimate White Surface Brightening Exfoliator and Clarins Hydraquench Cream Mask due to the raves on this blog. LOL. I am also currently trying out samples of Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate, Kiehl’s Ultra Light Daily UV Defense Sunscreen and Shishedo Perfect UV Protector. All products are great so far and I am not too surprise since it has been highly recommended on this site.
Do you think facials are really necessary? I am in a dilemma on whether to sign up for one package since it is pretty expensive and I know I could use the money for something else. I have gone for the trial and I like the experience but since the only problem with my face right now are blackheads on my nose, I am not sure if facials are what I need right now.
Paris B says
Merry Christmas to you too Victoria and thank you for coming by and also for sharing your views 😀 I’m happy to know the products we’ve talked about here worked for you. Always gives me a thrill when others like the stuff I like too 😀
As for facials, I’m a little biased because I love going for facials 😛 I find it helpful for clearing out pores because a professional extraction usually clears up my skin better than my itchy fingers. Also, its lovely and relaxing and a nice way to pamper myself 🙂 I do know of people who find it a waste of time so I don’t think facials are necessary but they are a nice luxury to go for if you can afford it and if you appreciate some pampering time. Also, finding the right salon is very important because it could make or break your experience. Instead of signing up for a package, you could always return once every 2 months or 3 months. That way, you don’t take out so much money up front and you can have a bit of pampering whenever you feel like it 🙂
Victoria says
Thanks for the reply Paris. Signing up for a package is more worth it in terms of value for money as you pay less in the long term. Will see how it goes but the pampering from facials especially a good one is certainly worth it 🙂
Any tips on how to remove blackheads?
Paris B says
Gotta agree with you there about the value of a package 🙂 I usually only sign up for a service package after I’ve been going for a few visits to be sure I’m very comfortable with the salon whether for massage or facials. The staff turnover tends to be quite high for these places so I’m always a little wary especially if I’m new 😉 As for blackheads, I erm… just squeeze them? haha… after a shower and after cleaning. I know we aren’t supposed to but I can’t help it 😛
Jesz says
Buying package is more worthwhile if you’re satisfied with their first trial. The thing to look out is some packages are attached with time limit, say, to used up in 12 months, then you’ve got to visit them almost every month. Some of the packages are without time limit, so you can choose to pamper yourself as & when needed, be it 2 months, 3 months once… 😀
Paris B says
That’s true about the time limit 🙂 I usually don’t sign anything on 1st trial because previous experience taught me that subsequent experiences weren’t as good. So I try them out a little while, paying a little more than package prices but at least if I don’t like them thereafter then I don’t feel pressured to return 😉 I’ve only bought a really long term package at the salon I go to now. For most others, I just buy maybe 3-4 times 😉 Which facial salon are you going to now, Jesz?
Jesz says
Bluunis….bought their package during promo, quite satisfied with their service, but sometimes they can be quite hard selling on their products. Got the 1st trial from Kanebo Isetan KLCC not long ago, service quite good, guess I’ll switch to Kanebo after I complete the package at Bluunis, hopefully there is promo then. My office is nearby KLCC & I took LRT most of the time, so having facial at Isetan KLCC is convenient especially when I could juz visit them after work hours & go straight home after that…the only disadvantage is that I normally got some strange stare at the LRT…lol
Paris B says
Ohhh Bluunis! All I remember is their strange ad on tv LOL I had a terrible experience there so I am terrified of the place. Reminds me too much of the hard sell New York Skin, slimming centres places >.< I haven't tried the Isetan KLCC Kanebo facials but I'll take your word for it. Any facial that makes me sleep is a good one 😉
Tine says
Right, I’m now waiting for the train to arrive, thougjy I’d drop you a note to say hi. Just had a blissful massage and facial (haven’t had one in 3 months. That’s a long time for me! :P). Not so nice to come out to the heat and stinky BO of the people waiting for the train though.
And that’s it from me. Train’s here! 😀
Paris B says
Hi Tine! What a coincidence! I have a facial scheduled for this evening at Kanebo 😀 Its a monthly thing for me, but I can’t wait, because I’ve got all these pesky clogged pores and blackheads I need extraction by the pros. Not quite sure what I used recently that clogged them up but I’m putting the blame on trying out rosehip oil 😛
Bugs says
Oh oh, I bought a 1st trial Kanebo Facial deal from Groupon once, as I remember u love facials at Kanebo. The facial was nice. Maybe coz of the exfoliating gel or something, I had clearer even skin after the session… And as u mentioned, no hard selling. I mean the girl did tried to ask why I don’t want to take the package offered at such a special price. Best of all, there’s no sour face or trying to make you feel bad for not signing a package.
One Issue though, finding a parking in Bangsar is a real headache… I called asking about parking but still couldn’t find the “special hse” for Kanebo customer. I would always avoid going to Bangsar if I can ^_^
Paris B says
Ooh so you do know how nice their facials are 😀 I saw that deal and I really wanted to pick it up but I forgot. Later I mentioned it to my facialist and she said I wasn’t entitled anyway because I was already a regular customer LOL! Thank goodness I didn’t buy 😉 I have to agree with you about the parking. Its absolute madness so if I don’t get lucky and manage to find public parking, I sometimes park behind where the houses are (the “special parking” is in the car porch of one of the houses although I can’t remember the number) or in the worst case scenario, Bangsar Village. I go there because I’m so used to them but for convenience, definitely Starhill is much better 😀
Jyoan says
hi! probably my first MWS Cafe. Missed out the previous one. haha. So used to your posts that when you ask for chat all of a sudden, I don’t know what to chat about.
Paris B says
Hi Jyoan! Pull up a chair and join us 😉 What do you think about the proliferation of Spring ’13 cosmetics collection items for sale overseas and all the news about them? Does it bother you?
Jyoan says
Sorry, disappeared because I was preparing to attend a wedding dinner.
Hmm, what do you mean? That they are pushing next year’s Spring makeup to us so fast? =P I must be living in a hole, haven’t heard of such news.
Paris B says
Yeah, news about Spring makeup collections are everywhere online now and I think its way too early!
TY says
Merry Christmas in advance to everyone! I just have one question, how do you guys usually store your make up stuffs? My collection just starts getting bigger and I want to find a good solution to home all my babies 🙂
Paris B says
Hello hello, TY and Merry Christmas to you too! As for makeup storage, I leave my skincare on the top of my dresser as I use it twice a day. I do have an Ikea Helmer drawer that I use to store eyeshadow palettes and lip products and blush is in a separate drawer. It must be noted though that I’m probably not your average consumer LOL! 😉 How are you currently storing yours?
Hanny Daforcena says
I am currently using a medium-sized makeup train case with a Daiso remote control holder to make the compartments as well as a Chinese herb gift box for the ones I use often. I would think my collection fits between small to medium where volume is concerned.
TY says
Hi Hanny, may I know where do you get your train case from?
Hanny Daforcena says
Sorry, I don’t really know because it was a gift from my aunt heh heh!
TY says
I just googled for Helmer drawer and it’s really huge! Definitely not average consumer 😛 I’m currently storing both skincare and make up stuffs using storage divider which I got from Ikea, but I would like to find something that has cover/lid to store my make up stuffs coz I don’t use them everyday and if I leave them just like that, they attract dust to stay on top so easily!
Paris B says
LOL its not that huge but yes, it does fill a lot of stuff. When I was starting out, I went to the hardware store or somewhere like Giant where they have a DIY section. I got myself a plastic box that had a cover at the top and drawers. I believe it was meant for people to keep screws and tools in. It was perfect to store makeup. Eyeshadow in one drawer, lipstick in another, blush in another etc. You can look there and its not very pricey. An alternative is a traincase but I found it too fiddly to have to open it up all the time so I prefer using just a divided compartment like that. Take a look in the DIY/hardware shops. You may be surprised at what you can find 😀
Jyoan says
My best makeup storage innovation is definitely mooncake drawers. haha, I have been keeping mooncake boxes for the last two years. I use this big one to store my wines lying down, and the small ones for makeup.
Juanneth says
I keep some lipsticks in the fridge and some in Daiso display boxes, and other stuffs using Daiso clear boxes & baskets (for my staple products/eyeshadows/foundations), using huge bowl/glasses/minimalist vases (for brushes, lipgloss, mascara, eyeliner, eyebrow pencil) and storage boxes (for something that I rarely use). I also keep my favorite make up stuffs separated in a make up bag, and some goes to favorite tools (spoolie, tweezer, nail clipper and top 5 essential brushes) – I just store them in a big sturdy pencil box, so in where case time is limited,I just draw out these two without hassle. Basically I will use anything that is practical.
But right now I am dying to get some clear cubes from https://www.facebook.com/MyMakeupOrganizer. Very Kim K looking. Oh,okey, my mom will torture my ears for this. :p
Paris B says
Psst! I was fascinated by those clear boxes from that lady too! But I just know I could never handle seeing a mess in them since they are clear hehe
Ting says
Hello Paris and everyone! Love the photo of this fruity salad. I just had lunch and looking at this made me hungry again! Darn! :p
This is my first MWS cafe session. Will be sneaking back here in a bit. Gotta work a bit now. :p xxx
Paris B says
I made myself hungry too! I had this at a cafe one day but I’m going to try to replicate it at home. Just need some oranges and grapefruit but I’m not sure what’s in the dressing. Maybe a simple balsamic + olive oil… enjoy your work day! 😉
Victoria says
Hi, it is me again, lol. Sorry for the questions but just need your wise opinion 🙂
Do you think the Shiseido Perfect Foundation Brush would work for a 2-way cake foundation, meaning the foundation is a bit wet but in a compact format? I have seen the YouTube on how to apply liquid and powder foundation with the brush but I am unsure if it would work for this. I currently use the sponge provided but feel that it does not provide a nice finish. The alternative is to buy a kabuki brush to even out the foundation but if I do buy another foundation brush, I would prefer to get the one from Shiseido.
Thanks in advance for the advice 🙂
Paris B says
No trouble at all. I’ve tried using the Shiseido brush for powder and although it does a good job, I find the head is just too small so it takes far too long. With liquid foundation, the small head doesn’t matter so much because you can “drag” it a bit, but for powder it takes a long time. So I usually use the enclosed sponge or brush (Dior’s come with a brush) or I also have a larger fluffy brush or kabuki brush that I use with powder foundation. I think a kabuki will give better and more even coverage in a faster time 🙂
Jyoan says
Isn’t it strange to use brush for applying compacts? I don’t know. But I tried using my stash of brushes to apply the traditional powder foundation (mine is from Make Up Store, can be used wet), and it’s just really weird.
I can’t seem to make it work no matter which brush I use, and I went through literally my whole stash, from synthetic to natural, kabuki to large fan, funny pointed tip brush and spade ones… … Think it’s so much better with a sponge. Beauty Blender for the win!
No offence. Just saying. Cos I tried, and it felt strange.
Esther Neo says
Jyoan, brush is really a good media for compact and the effect is awesome!! The swirling method makes the whole make up procedures very pampering, Kekekeke. I love my e.l.f. Powder brush….but I am dying inside to own a Shisedo but the darn e.l.f brush refused to give way!! Beauty blender works wonder for cream compact I must say.
Paris B says
Not weird 🙂 A brush gives a sheerer finish than a sponge. I usually use a sponge because the coverage is better, but I rarely use a powder foundation wet. A brush gives a softer more transparent finish which is good for those who don’t want heavy coverage.
Esther Neo says
I used a document drawers from popular bookshop. Cheap n good, I paid SGC25 for a 5 drawers. Fill up tons of makeup.
Paris B says
That’s an idea too! I’ve seen similar drawers locally at bookstores too 🙂
Jyoan says
Yup! I am thinking of that. Just that document drawers are way, way to deep because they are meant for A4 paper. It would be nice to find one that is made for landscape storage of papers, and not portrait. Portrait is too deep for makeup.
MUJI has a nice landscape style one. But I really, really hate it when these drawers do not fit a M.A.C blush standing up perfectly.
I wanted to buy the Kim Kardashian Clear Cube, was so prepared to spend my bonus on Clear Cube, but then I saw the height of a drawer to be only 2 inches. =(((( 2 inches can’t fit MAC standing up. I HATE storing blushes placed flat one on top of another. It is so irritating when I can’t see what’s on the bottom row. There goes the Clear Cube, but money saved.
Esther Neo says
I store my brushes flat so I have no issue plus the drawer is huge, can hold at least 30 brushes, all flat! The doc storage I have can hold my 3.2cm (height) LM powder nicely. What I also like is I can fully extend the drawer and it will not fall over because of its sturdiness and the “locking” system to prevent it from popping it. Mine is not exactly longish, it looks more squarish actually.
plue says
i still like my ikea fira to house my blushes, but damn it’s overflowing now! and sad part ikea discontinued such a lovely piece of item!! i don’t know why but brands just like to discontinue/ reformulate awesome things, and then roll out crappy stuff to replace them.
and i noticed you changed the fonts for your site? i hope it’s not my PC acting up!
Paris B says
Sometimes an upgrade is for the better but discontinuing something usable doesn’t make sense. It still it could be one of any number of reasons. Time to find alternatives! 😉 yes I’ve changed a few little things. Preparing for a slightly change coming soon 😉
plue says
haha need to get organizing soon! I take way too much time to organize things, and CNY is coming really soon! I think I am generally quite a messy person. Need to kick the habit… hopefully.
hope you had a great week!
by the way, what’s your happiest thing/ event ever happen in 2012?
Paris B says
Oh yes with cny coming soon spring clearing is definitely something I have to do too 🙂 catch I’m not sure what’s the happiest thing to happen in 2012 yet. Be hmm maybe my little nephew? Gehe
