One of these days, I will have to visit Switzerland for myself and see why it is a place that all skincare aims to come from. Could it be the cool crisp air of the Alps? Or perhaps the fresh spring water that flows down the mountains? Or maybe it could even be the alpine flowers and plants with their special secretions that make Swiss skincare so desirable, and effective. Or maybe Swiss doctors and clinics have just been at it longer ๐
I was recently introduced to a range of skincare that comes from Switzerland โ Swiss Line by Dermalab. It is quite an exclusive skincare range that locally is sold at certain salons or selected retailers only, including the Energy Day Spa. The range is quite large but the one I was introduced to is a couple of new products under the Cell Shock range โ the 360° Anti-Wrinkle Line Filler and Total Resurface Overnight Cream.
Both these products are targeted at those looking for an anti-aging range of skincare and operate on a 360 degree principle, where they work on the skin not only on the surface, but also on a cellular level, working โinside outโ as it were.
For those with deep wrinkles, there is the 360° Anti-Wrinkle Line Filler that comes in a pen like tube. It is a silicone-free, paraben-free and allergen-free line filler that is touted as the first of its kind in the market. Iโm not too sure about the allergen free bit because we just never know what we could be allergic to, but perhaps what they mean is that it does not contain most known allergens. The texture feels silky smooth and Iโm told, plumps up lines almost immediately. The key ingredients are Cellactel 2 Complex (which are exclusive to all Swiss Line products) which help skin cells breathe, preserve energy and metabolize more effectively and an effective oxygenator; and Hyaluronic Acid Micro Sponges which like sponges, are dry until they are absorbed into the skin and then swell up to act as line fillers.
What this means to you and me, is that this is a balm that feels like silicone (but does not contain silicone) and applying it on a deep line will help plump it up so the line looks less obvious thanks to the silica beads complex that covers skin with a matte veil which gives a smoother look. Used over time, perhaps it will help but I see the results as being quite temporary.
The Total Resurface Overnight Cream too has a lovely texture. It is quite a rich night cream that is supposed to help speed up skin exfoliation and activate cell renewal. With age, this process of skin exfoliation and cell renewal slows down, so the only way we can achieve a more radiant look with more refined looking skin would be through a faster turnaround time.
It being a rather rich cream, you donโt have to use very much, and it makes my skin feel velvety soft and smooth. Iโm told also that it will help retexturize skin and provide lift to skin so you know, what with looking in the mirror everyday and wondering at the effects of gravity, it might be nice to be find something to counter it ๐ I may tell you about this in more detail in time to come. Iโve come across some stellar reports about how it makes skin look finer and pores look smaller and skin look more radiant and lifted, so Iโm chaffing at the bit to see if I will add to the chorus or debunk a myth. Weโll see! ๐
The launch was quite a small exclusive one at Energy Day Spa at Great Eastern Mall, Ampang, and I felt a bit awkward because it seemed like everyone there was a local celebrity and everyone knew everyone else. Eeks! Unfortunately my celebrity blindness chose this time to rear its ugly head and so I only recognized the few below, and Yasmin Yusoff whose voice I remember well from Radio 4 days. That was a bit of a surreal moment, saying Hi and having a voice I remember well from the radio saying โHi, Iโm Yasminโ back. Surreal ๐
I havenโt tried anything from Swiss Line by Dermalabs yet. I will in time and I will share my thoughts on it, you can bet on it! But if you have tried anything from this skincare range, do share your thoughts or experiences. Iโm sure it will be helpful!
