New: Hada Labo Cleansing Oil, Revlon CustomEyes Eyeshadow, L’Oreal Revitalift powder foundation, Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Oil Free range, Mentholatum Waterlip Lip balm

Happy Saturday Ladies!

My Dad surprised me by asking me to book them a movie this weekend. After much to-ing and fro-ing, we are going to see Pirates of the Carribbean : On Stranger Tides. Would you believe that this is the first Pirates movie I’m going to watch? Yeah I’m way behind, I know. So while I go and savour the movie, here are some new beauty items you can look out for.

Hada Labo Olive Cleansing Oil

hada labo olive cleansing oil

Hada Labo previously had their Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Makeup Remover, which I wasn’t too crazy over, and they now have a proper cleansing oil! Its olive oil based so I’m quite worried that it will break me out like DHC does. I ordered mine online before I knew it was out here, and I just received it about 2 days ago, but there you go! I’ve already seen it at some Guardian pharmacies so take a look there.

Hada labo Cleansing Oil retails at RM49.90

Revlon CustomEyes Eyeshadow Palettes

revlon custom eyes eyeshadow palettes

Clockwise from Left: Party Pops (colourful), Naturally Glamorous (browns), Rich Temptations (purples), Smokey sexy (blue-grey)

I never thought very much of Revlon eyeshadows. I always found them lacking a bit in pigment. The new Custom Eyes Eyeshadow palettes however, are a totally different kettle of fish! Lovely smooth textures for the most part, and well pigmented. I most certainly recommend taking a look at them, especially Smokey Sexy and Naturally Glamorous. I’ll have a review or two coming up in due course 🙂

Revlon Custom Eyes Eyeshadow Palettes come in 4 colour palettes and retail at RM49 each

L’Oreal Revitalift Duo Powder Foundation

l'oreal revitalift powder foundation

I like my powder foundation and I’ve been using this one from L’Oreal Revitalift for a couple of weeks and am quite happy with it. The powder can go on a little thick if you use the sponge so I prefer to apply this powder with a brush. It goes on a more natural, sheerer layer. Colour wise, mine is Vanilla that looks a little dark in the pan, but matches my skintone quite well if I blend it together with the light shade that you can use as highlighter too in a pinch. Its supposed to have anti-aging properties and to make skin look more matte with smaller pores. Matte, yes. Most powders do but I’m not sure about the smaller pores bit. If you’re keen I can have a review go up on this one soon. Comes with SPF30 PA++

L’Oreal Revitalift Powder Foundation retails at RM69.90 at all L’Oreal counters and I believe comes in 4-6 shades

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Oil Free Skincare range

kiehl's ultra facial oil free skincare

I’d been waiting for this one ever since I knew about it so I can finally run my review on the range 😀 I’d tried the very popular Ultra Facial range before, which went all the way to the Antarctic Arctic and kept the explorers’ skin moist despite the super low humidity and cold. However, in the tropics, I found Ultra Facial (in the white packaging) too oily and heavy for my skin. The Ultra Facial Oil Free range (in blue packaging) is perfect for us tropical girls, or for those with combination-oily skin. I love the gel cream – its light yet delivers loads of moisture without all the icky oily heavy feel.

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Oil Free Cleanser retails at RM85/150ml, Ultra Facial Oil Free Toner RM85/200ml and Ultra Facial Oil Free Gel Cream at RM100/50ml

Mentholatum Waterlip Lip Balm

mentholatum waterlip

For lip balm fanatics, Mentholatum has yet another lip balm out with hyaluronic acid and deep sea minerals extract to keep lips moistened all day. Hyaluronic acid as we know, helps the skin retain moisture so you can keep dry flaky lips at bay. There is also SPF15 PA+ UV protection (which is better than nothing) and it comes in 2 flavours – Peppermint (blue) and Non Fragranced (pink). I’m not much into lipbalm but if you need one that isn’t too oily but keeps lips feeling hydrated, take a look at these. Its not bank breaking and Peppermint is very refreshing!

Mentholatum Waterlip Intense Lip Moisturiser retails at RM12.90 at most leading pharmacies

Are you headed for a movie this weekend too? I wanted to watch Kungfu Panda 2 (I loved Kungfu Panda!) but my Dad said “A cartoon??” in a tone of voice that brooked no discussion so yeah. Pirates it is!

Enjoy the weekend everyone! 😀

I can’t watch any movie this month due to my last exams T.T
    Enjoy the movie ^^

its a showdown between DHC and Hada Labo in pharmacies~!!
will be waiting for the reviews ^^. The price is certainly more attractive than DHC’s.

Oh good luck with your exams! Once you are done, you can watch all the movies you want 😀 I couldn’t use DHC at all (absolutely clogs up my pores) so I’m curious to see if this will also clog up my pores 😛 We’ll find out soon enough!

I’ve never watched Kungfu Panda and am not particularly fond of the Pirates series (except for the first movie). Have fun with your movie date 🙂

I recently bought the HL cleansing oil and really like it. Haven’t had any breakouts yet *touch wood*. I was using MAC’s before and have already finished up two bottles.

Oh you have to watch Kungfu Panda! Its not a cartoon cartoon at all and very worth watching 🙂 Glad to know the Hada Labo cleansing oil works for you – am curious now to see how it’ll work for me!

I’m curious about the Loreal powder foundation, waiting for your review 🙂 Enjoy Pirates! I am full of envy as I have no opportunity to watch a movie since G was born! Need to ask my parents to babysit one of these days to indulge!

I saw Pirates last week, and I loved it! I hope you enjoy it. Saw X-men: First Class today, it was really good too.

Sp far I’m very happy with my Softymo (your rec!) and Shu cleansing oils, alternate depending on what make-up I’m wearing 🙂

i am not a fan of revlon eye shadows so i’d be curious about what you have to say about thes custom eyes in the future. i am however, very keen on hada labo cleansing oil as it’s a brand i have learnt to love and trust. there are so many new things recently. some very high end LE palettes are also calling me but i have to save up a bit for my holiday so i am not sure if i should get those. but thank God there are d/s fix! 🙂

I was never much a fan of Revlon shadows too. These are very well pigmented but I’ve only tried the blue one so far. I think Hada Labo as a brand is pretty good but I prefer their SHA range (white packaging). I’ve been using the red Retinol range which is very very nice on my facial skin but tears up my hands completely. I know what you mean about being tempted by high end palettes. They keep coming out with more and more and prettier and prettier palettes every season!

I enjoyed the movie but as I’ve never seen a Pirates movie before this I guess my expectations were lower 🙂 I’ll be sure to catch Kungfu Panda soon!

Ooh, Kiehl’s Ultra Facial line has gone all the way to the Antarctic? I got samples of their moisturiser and toner when I bought a hand cream and let me tell you, they were really life-savers in Europe! The weather there is really dry but it does wonders to oily skin: mine has never looked better! And I slapped layer over layer of cream… and even some oil as well!
Now, the real test is whether it’s going to behave just as well in the tropics. Too bad I didn’t find Revlon’s Custom Eyes there, but I fell in love with their Just Bitten stylus – I bought 2 (and my mother got another one for herself).
Oh, and make sure you watch the previous 3 POC movies! They’re very funny and fast-paced. I’m sure all your family is going to love them!

My mistake Mari! Its the Arctic 😛 But somewhere very cold nonetheless! I liked it in cold dry weather too! It kept my skin well hydrated but here in the tropics, meh! Too heavy! As it will be for you in Brazil! This new formula is super light and excellent for us tropical gals! Yay! We don’t get the Revlon Just Bitten styluses here unfortunately but I”ll await your review… and your posts on your Europe trip! 😀

The cleansing oil very ex loh. I’ll stick to my Kanebo Freshel range which is slightly cheaper….

Compared to Kanebo yeah but I find it less thick than Freshel and cleans off more easily too 😉 Wait till the Hada Labo one goes on sale! I’m sure it will
