You youngsters don’t know how lucky you are these days 😛 Which statement of course, makes me sound like I should be checking into an Old Folks Home. But back in the day, liquid foundation meant heavy, oily liquids with pretty high coverage. I hated them and never wore liquid foundation.
These days, liquid foundations are lightweight and range from light to heavy coverage and I have found ones I like. I actually have 3 or 4 I simply adore and the Guerlain Lingerie de Peau is one of them. I’ve had this one since last year and I don’t know why I’ve taken this long to tell you about it. I’ll be telling you about the others in the days/weeks to come.
Foundation that’s sheer like lingerie on your skin yet offers a light to medium coverage, depending on how much you use. I personally love it because I love light sheer foundations. If you prefer something with more coverage, you probably won’t like this.
The packaging is simple. It comes in a heavy solid glass bottle with a pump. I find that 1 pump of foundation is quite sufficient for me and I apply this the way I apply all liquid foundation – the speedy idiot proof way. It is very light on my skin, and it isn’t streaky nor hard to blend so I’m usually done applying foundation very quickly.
Guerlain Lingerie de Peau Invisible Skin-Fushion Foundation 01 Beige Pale
Fits right in my hand!
My colour is 01 Beige Pâle which is, I believe the lightest shade available. The undertone is a little pink and despite it being the lightest shade, I don’t think this is one for the very very fair skinned girls. On my skin, it blends right in and does not oxidise throughout the day even if it looks a bit darker on my hand. Naturally then, I like it because I get the “my skin but better” look with just a touch of dewiness and glow without the oil slick. I have a picture of me wearing it here.

I will say that although it is light and sheer, the coverage is quite good to even out skintone – things like redness around the nose and undereye area – and I only need a touch of concealer thereafter to blend things out. Very quick!
Being from the Guerlain house of cosmetics, there is a fragrance, which I could do without, but it thankfully dissipates. The texture as I have noted is light on the skin and applies very easily without streaking, even when using fingers. I don’t get oily with this, and when set with my trusty Guerlain Meteorites powders, I’m pretty much set to go.
Pros: Lightweight texture, Smooth and silky to apply, Stays on well for me all day long, Natural sheer finish and doesn’t get cakey even when layered
Cons: Pricey, Colour has pink tones that may not suit everyone
I read quite a few online reviews which say the bottle is heavy. Yeah. It is, but I like it that way. It fits nicely in my hand, has a good heft and the pump is good. I will not fault the packaging because it is a pricey foundation and it delivers the lux factor – everything I expect from the luxury cosmetics house of Guerlain. Here is the ingredient list:-

Have you tried this one? I will not suggest you purchase this online sight unseen because the colour is a bit tricky. Best to get yourself matched at the counter and if in a little doubt, go one or half a shade lighter because of the pink undertone and to allow for any oxidization 🙂

woah, I thought it was 50ml from the looks of it. So its 30ml~!
fair but with pink tone? just my type XD
ParisB says
Yup its 30ml as with most liquid foundation 🙂 Sounds like the colour’s up your alley!

Call me a weirdo, I found it thick when I was testing this out!!! The only liquid foundation that I find light is still DiorSkin Pure Light, which was unfortunately discontinued…and counting the days I have not been wearing liquid foundation…yeap, almost half a year!
I probably should go to test it again, since I in some way want to have a Guerlain foundation (the pathetic vanity in my blood!)…
ParisB says
Weirdo! 😛 You did say to call you one… 😉 I think I know what you mean by it feeling thick. It does not spread very thinly nor does it feel watery to the touch. But then you don’t need foundation so don’t waste your money! 😛
Audrey says
oh dear, the alcohol is so high up 😡
ParisB says
Oops sorry, does that not work for you?

I’ve been wanting to try this ever since I saw the promo thingy on a beauty blog some time back. >.< I'm still on the lookout for THE high end foundation to splurge on.
ParisB says
Hard to find THE ONE to be honest – depends on preferences and its not necessary to find one high end one if a drugstore one works just as well… and sometimes better 🙂 Try asking for samples from a few brands and decide from there 🙂 If you have oily skin, you might like Lancome Maqui Miracle .
Hanny says
I actually have the Macqui miracle sample but the sample cap wouldn’t open… >.< Am liking the Shiseido Perfecting foundation though.

Another random comment: I love your bookshelf! I have only one, but it’s way overloaded until the couch became a sorta kinda bookshelf too 😛
ParisB says
Haha thanks! I have 2 FULL bookshelves…. and books are still spilling out 😛

wow i definitely have to check this out! 🙂 i like lightweight sheer to medium coverage foundations. currently im in love with the Cle de Peau refining fluide foundation which is also very lightweight and sheer. I’m hoping that this Guerlain will be a good substitute for the CdP!
ParisB says
I haven’t tried Cle de Peau but price wise I think this one’s friendlier on the wallet LOL! You do have me intrigued by the Cle de Peau though. I’ll try to take a look at it next time 😉
Aretha says
It definitely is! CdP is rm380 so its about twice the price of the Guerlain :S ! Yes do check it out as its one of my fav foundations :)!
Connie De Alwis says
tempting but pink tones are very apparent on me so I can pass. I’m just starting to use the Diorskin
ParisB says
No I don’t think this will work for you either coz of the pink 🙂 I hope you like Diorskin Nude! That has a bit of pink tones too in the one I have.

saw it the other day and remembered that you said it must be one of the best you’ve tried. too expensive, though… still giving it a thought. i love sheer foundations…
ParisB says
LOL It is most certainly one of the best I’ve tried but if you have oily skin, let e suggest Lancome Maqui Miracle or Shiseido Perfect Refining Foundation which I think holds up better on oilier skins while being sheer and light.

Hey Paris,
recently I was on the lookout for a new liquid foundation and my colleague recommended this to me. I tried it on my hand & I really like the texture and the smell but sadly, even the lightest shade is too dark for moi 🙁 I ended up getting Chanel Vitalumerie Aqua in B10. I think the French are generally more tan in their complexion, so Guerlain’s foundation is usually on the darker shades, unless they are catering to the Asian market?
ParisB says
I’m told that there is a lighter shade in #31 and #30 for Lingerie de Peau (but I didn’t know that earlier) Did you try those? You must be really light skinned! 😉
Nadia says
I love lightweight foundations too and Guerlain Lingerie’s definitely on my top favourites list!

Hello there! I just found your clog via google and I must say I love it! And I too love Guearlain. But we only have the Parure Extreme here, which is fine with me because it works fine on my oily skin. The problem are the shades. The brightest here is 03, which is to dark now in winter. And a bit to pinkish too. And now i’m wondering if its worth finding and ordering the 01 from abroad, are they really that different. Did you ever try to compare them? I would really be happy if you could help me with this, cuz i’ve waisted so much money on expensive foundations that don’t actualy work or look good on me. Are the shades even the same with parure extreme and this one?
Greetings from Slovenia and keep up the great work with your blog!
Manuela
ParisB says
I’m afraid I haven’t tried Parure Extreme foundation. I do have a Parure foundation somewhere which I haven’t tried yet but which I also got in 01 on the premise that it’d suit my skin as well as Lingerie de Peau. I have swatched testers at the Guerlain counter and whilst there isn’t too large a difference between all the foundation shades, I can tell that 03 is significantly darker than 03 so if you are looking for something lighter, it would be best to look into the smaller numbers. Thank you for dropping by.

Pardon, I meant blog in the first sentence, i’m typing on my mobile and messed up :$

Hi, first time to comment but I’ve been a regular reader for a while now. Love your blog. It’s one of my daily go to. What do you think of the shu uemura foundations? I’ve been wanting to try RMK but we don’t have it where I live. I have dry skin but it can get oily with some brands (like clinique) or heavier foundations.
