Don’t be Mired in an Ocean of dead skin cells : Let the Ocean Mire Peeling Gel and Spa Moist rescue you

February 24, 2011 Paris B 2 Comments

I love coming across new products that work well for me but I would love it better if they were more easily accessible. The Ocean Mire Peeling Gel and Spa Moist are 2 such products. I would love if they were easier to find, so if you know where to find them in stores instead of online, please do holler in the comments!

Now what exactly are these Ocean Mire products? They don’t come as a set, but I found that using them together made my skin feel and look amazingly smooth. Well, smoother than I’m used to, that is.

Ocean Mire Peeling Gel

This one’s a peeling gel. If you are familiar with Asian skincare, you will have come across this sort of gel, which helps lift off dead skin cells from your skin to reveal smoother brighter skin, without having to use a physical abrasive scrub. There are quite a few brands around that have this.

The difference is that the Ocean Mire Peeling Gel can be used on wet skin. Most peeling gels call for it to be used on dry skin so this is quite convenient, as I prefer to use a peeling gel after cleansing. I like to drop a drop of gel on my finger and then massage it onto my skin one area at a time. The feeling of the skin balling up under my fingers is quite satisfying 😛 However, I do find it more effective when used on dry skin.

ocean mire peeling gel how to use

I found when I used this peeling gel, that places like my cheeks and forehead didn’t “peel” very much. But other parts of my face like my nose and chin and jawline peeled more. Those are also areas I tend to get oily at so perhaps there’s a co-relation. I had some dry flaky skin around my upper lip which was remnants of a cured pimple, and this peeling gel expedited the skin renewal process while removing the flakiness so I really liked it.

I however only use it once or twice a week. I found that when I tried to use it more often, I had nothing coming off from my skin. Might that mean that my skin is clean or that it needed no peeling? I can’t tell. But immediately after you rinse off the gel, I can promise you that you’d find it difficult to stop from touching your face. My skin never felt smoother 😀

I don’t use very much each time so the 60ml bottle will last me quite a while and that’s a good thing too because its not easily available in stores here 🙁

Pros: Skin feels soft and smooth after use, Can be used on wet skin

Cons: Hard to find in stores

Ocean Mire Peeling Gel retails at RM55/60ml and can be purchased from http://www.facebook.com/blissfulmarketing

Ocean Mire Spa Moist

review ocean mire spa moist gel moisturizer

The Spa Moist is a gel moisturizer that claims to be a toner, essence, mask and moisturizer in one. Its got triple hyaluronic acid so if your skin doesn’t play well with hyaluronic acid, you know to avoid this. My skin  loves hyaluronic acid however, so it naturally drank up this moisturizer.

However, I did not quite like using it as a daily moisturizer. I found it remained too sticky on my skin and didn’t quite keep it as nicely hydrated as I liked. So what I use it for is as a sleeping mask and its amazing for that!

A sleeping mask, again if you are familiar with Asian skincare is a gel mask/moisturizer you apply on your skin and go to sleep in it without rinsing off. This one works very well for me. I apply a thick layer on my skin after using the Peeling Gel, go to sleep and the next morning, my skin looks and feels super soft and smooth and moisturized.

I do find that when I wash my face in the morning, there is a bit of slippery residue on my face but it doesn’t break me out and my skin does feel softer.

Pros: Used as a sleeping mask skin feels soft and smooth and moisturized, Best used after the peeling gel

Cons: Hard to find locally

Ocean Mire Spa Moist retails at RM168/120g and can be purchased from http://www.facebook.com/blissfulmarketing

Have you tried either of these products before? Or perhaps if not these products from the same brand, similar products that work well for you? I am really fascinated by these peeling gel things, and I had only ever heard of Cure before (not sure if its available here) but now I have this one, I’m not so quick to want to try Cure anymore since it all seems to work the same way.

Ya I remember you being allergic to hyaluronic acid. Not sure if the peeling gel has it. But yes England very powderful no? 😛
