I made time to check out the Lancome Ultra Lavande Spring 2011 collection because I had to see how that pretty face palette looked. Yes, I know its now “old news” but its a pretty collection so let’s take a look anyway 🙂
Oh hello! Here’s the star product of the collection that flew off the shelves before I had a chance to say hello – Butterflies Fever. But here it is! HELLO! 😀 Glowy Ballerina is its name – purdy? 🙂
The 2 eyeshadow quads in the collection are still available – Cool Lavande (purples) and Warm Lavande (gold). The gold one is actually quite pretty, which convinces me more than ever that I’m more skewed towards cool tones rather than warms. The SA at the counter had Cool Lavande on her eyes and the gold is shimmery and a true gold.
There are lipsticks for the Ultra Lavande collection but what really really caught my eye are these – Absolu Creme de Brilliance liquid lipstick/lipgloss. These were launched overseas sometime last year and I was told that we weren’t getting them. I eventually purchased one through a friend in Canada (and paid a bomb for it) but I loved it, and I’m so pleased that Lancome has finally brought them in here! NOW I can review it without pissing everyone off for telling you about products unavailable here! 😀 So expect a review of the Lancome Absolu Creme de Brilliance soon-ish… 😉
And finally, I was told that the Glowy Ballerina face palette is mostly sold out but Parkson at Pavilion KL still has some and if you purchase over RM300 (at Parkson Lancome counters) you get a Sereni & Shentel headband worth RM150 free! Sereni & Shentel hail from Sarawak and design hair accessories, predominantly headbands. Find them online at www.sereniandshentel.com
And finally, here’s another shot of the Butterflies Fever Glowy Ballerina face palette/blush.
Yes I sat it down on a menu because I was impatient. The palette has nothing to do with beef meatballs 😛
Did you check out Lancome’s Ultra Lavande Spring 2011 collection? If you are looking for the blush, I know for a fact that Parkson Pavilion KL still has some but I’m told its mostly sold out. Not surprising really 😉
I also picked up samples of the upcoming Lancome Maqui Miracle liquid foundation. I’m told that unlike Teint Miracle, this one’s more for oily skinned gals and has a more matt effect. I compared the textures of Teint Miracle and Maqui Miracle at the counter and truly, Teint Miracle felt a lot lighter and creamier compared to Maqui Miracle. Still, I do like Maquiliquide so I hope I like Maqui Miracle too. Incidentally, the Lancome foundation range will soon be revamped and replaced gradually over the year. You can pick up your sample of the Lancome Maqui Miracle foundation which will only be launched in May 2011 🙂 Details are here.
Does anything from the collection catch your eye? Or do you want me to speed up that Absolu Creme de Brilliance review? 😛

I want the face palette, but I was wondering if it’s too cool toned for me. HAIH. But am lusting after the Absolu Creme de Brilliance liquid lipsticks ^.^ Wonder how they compare with the Chanel Rouge Allure Lacques. ^.^
ParisB says
It certainly looks very pale. If you want it, best head down to a counter and get them to test it on you before you decide. Creme de Brilliance is lighter and less pigmented than Chanel Rouge Allure Laques. The latter are seriously strong and a little drying. Creme de Brilliance is like a pigmented lipgloss and isn’t drying on me.

Thanks for the info!! ^.^ Since they’re all permanent (save for the palette), I shall think about them liquid lipsticks for awhile. God knows that me first MAC lippie was a freak impulse purchase!

Sold out??? Darn! I was looking forward to getting it!!! Argh…
ParisB says
Its still available at Parkson Pavilion! Not sure about other stores. I dropped you an email 😉

Hmm, I liked the purples palette! Minus the pink shade, of course – I’d gladly exchange that for the golden one of the other palette. I can never get enough of gold! 🙂 And the blush is just head over heels pretty, it must have a really nice multifaceted effect on the cheeks!
Now, I’m not a fan of lipgloss since I hate the wet-sticky feeling. But I really like some liquid lipsticks. I’m curious how the Absolu Creme de Brilliance will fare.
ParisB says
Haha… you are like me! I detest the wet sticky feel of lipglosses too hence I rarely wear them. When I do, I go for lipglosses that aren’t sticky and which have colour because I wear them by themselves. The Creme de Brilliance apply like a gloss but without that sticky feel of gloss. Its nice. Let me go and grab some photos and we’ll have a review 😉
