Chanel Rouge Coco Camelia : A lipstick I can wear every day

October 18, 2010 Paris B 30 Comments

A week… or was it two weeks ago, I teased you with a picture of the Chanel Rouge Coco lipstick in Camelia #10.

I promised you swatches and I always try to keep to my promises 🙂 Now just quickly for those who are new, the Rouge Coco lipsticks by Chanel have a nice pigment and do not go on very glossy or shiny. I always feel that they are a very adult sort of lipstick. Not something frivolous, but something when worn makes you feel almost like a lady.

The packaging is lux as befits a luxury brand and I like the weight of the lipstick. Not super heavy or bulky, yet has a nice weight so it does not feel like a plaything.

#10 Camelia is a very wearable everyday colour. I’ve got a couple of swatches below 🙂

The colour is a light rose pink which is a colour I wear well. In fact, I’d say that the Rouge Coco lipstick range is a range of very lip safe colours. Nothing super dramatic or bright but there are many good colours for women of any colour who just want a good lipstick.

The colour is a little stronger on my lips than I expected but its a good sort of colour. The texture is more satin and it lasts a long time on my lips without slipping and sliding. “A long time” means till lunch because I have my coffee and water in the mornings and by the time I have lunch, I’d wipe away my lipstick.

Some people have complained that the Rouge Coco range of lipsticks are drying. I personally do not face that problem at all 🙂 Camelia is a nice toned down lip colour I wear everyday which is great when you buy an expensive lipstick, because you want it to go as far as possible!

Pros: Lovely colour, Lasts long on my lips

Cons: Expensive

I also presently have #22 Paris which is bright and not a colour I wear very often these days. Having a colour I can slick on any time every day, that matches well with the rest of my makeup makes Camelia a permanent feature in my lipstick pouch 🙂

Now, I know Chanel lipsticks are out of the price range of many, but have you indulged and if you did, which colour did you go for? 🙂

Wow, what a very pretty colour!

You gotta stop posting on the C-word products. It’s bad for my credit card. Speaking of credit cards… erm… any updates from your end?

    Lovely color on you! <3

I have Mademoiselle (Rouge Coco) and Vertige (Rouge Allure)

Love them to death! I always feel "something" whenever I put my Chanel lippie on. I don't know, like "lady-like" or "classy", I don't know, it's just "something".

Or maybe I just think too much to justify the price. Haha :p

Thanks Wai See but I do find that nice lipsticks or lipsticks in nice packaging does makes a difference to how you feel with it on. Enjoy it – its a touch of luxury after all 😉

Like Wai See and many other commenters, I am a Mademoiselle fan myself – but Camelia is très jolie as well! And I really dig nude lipsticks… I am still coveting Perle, but my bank account has gone from firmly telling me “no” to singing it in a loud chorus. I’m afraid I’ll have to adhere.

And to echo everyone else, Camelia does look lavish on you, ParisB 🙂

I think I might have to check it out eventually! Cool pinks and violets work best with my skin tone so hopefully Camelia works! Now, how to get both Camelia AND Perle at the same time 🙁

I like the embossed Chanel words in the lipstick and the packaging. Totally classy. The colors are usually very classic too. I’ve yet to indulge but have coveted Chanel lipsticks. Perhaps at the end of the year as a treat.

The color looks gorgeous on you!

You know, ever since Chanel embossed their lippies, every brand seems to be doing it! Cue Revlon LOL! But yes, the colours are usually classic and wearable, not crazy in any way. Its like the brand isn’t it? Timeless 🙂

An “I’ll be out all day and need my makeup to An “I’ll be out all day and need my makeup to stay on” look 😅 Super simple and using stuff I already own. How many do you recognise? 😅

For the base I think the key is the Nars setting powder which is basically a silica powder. Many brands have similar white powder for setting. I did this same look yesterday and it barely budged/faded by evening. Only lipstick needed a little topping up 😊

And this is about all the makeup I can handle these days 😂 no eye makeup cos I can’t be arsed 🤪

Posting for posterity because I like this photo 😆 Also hello! 😜

It’s interesting that when I meet people they always ask me “Are you still blogging?” which tells me they don’t read my blog anymore (cos if they did they’d know I am lol! Weekly generally, but still writing) Yet I don’t blame them because a lot of social credit is placed on one’s Instagram presence. This I fear, is an area I am lacking. I pop in every now and then, share stories that are totally unrelated to what people follow me for, then wonder why they unfollow lol! Other times, spider webs gather in the corners of my unused account. I don’t blame them. Not everyone wants to know what my dogs are up to 😜

Anyway I make no apologies. It’s ok if you follow. It’s ok if you don’t. It’s ok if you’re interested in stuff I do. It’s ok if you’re not. Life goes on for both you and I and ultimately, we just both want it to be happy. So do what makes you happy 😊 I’ll still share my beauty finds and I still blog once a week. I may share what I’m up to from time to time, or I may not. I can tell you that I’m keeping busy and that I have a lot on my plate, none of it glamorous unlike that of most content creators/influencers. It’s too boring for most for me to share here so I’ll just share the good bits - as Instagram intended 😂

But if you want to find me, you’ll know how 😊

The review for the product is somewhere on the blog mywomenstuff.com
Yes I know many of you are terrified of lizards 🦎🫣

But I liked this sunscreen - for the body. Even though it left a white cast. Even though it is hard to remove. It kept my arms protected through a weekend of brutal sun exposure and I survived without burning! ✌🏻
