Esmeria Intensive Body Cream is like the Holy Grail

July 22, 2010 Paris B 28 Comments

I say its LIKE the Holy Grail because this brand is darned elusive 😛

I picked this one up during some random expo I was at. It was about RM25 there and I was curious. I’d seen Esmeria being sold at some smaller pharmacies, including VitaCare and Caring Pharmacy but had never tried it.

Esmeria is a brand that’s Malaysian owned and focuses on using natural bio actives in their products. You don’t see it being trumpeted around the place, which is sort of interesting and intriguing. Well, I’ll trumpet it for them because I really liked this Intensive Body Cream (link).

I liked using this cream, considering I’m one of the laziest people around when it comes to applying body cream. Part of the reason is because it absorbs very quickly and does not feel sticky or oily on the skin at all. This also translates into the fact that it does not stain or mark bed sheets, because I apply my body creams/lotions before bed.

The cream states that it is created especially for dry sensitive or eczema prone skin and although I’m none of the above, I liked it because it wasn’t too heavy yet it was very moisturizing. You don’t get that sort of combination very often.

Oh and its unscented too. There is a very slight scent but its not flowery or fruity or strong – how I like my body creams or lotions. Since its a 75ml tube, I carry it when I travel – fits the plane requirements and works great in a dry climate when I’m prone to scaly skin plus it works in the airplane cabin when you don’t quite want a strong scented hand lotion.

Pros: Light yet moisturizing texture, Inexpensive, Unscented/light scent, Useful travel friendly size

Cons: Hard to find

Esmeria is a product brand using natural bio actives ingredients that do not contain harmful chemicals and is paraben free. I think its great to find a brand that advocates this, that’s homegrown and affordable!

One more testament to how much I like it. My tube’s almost finished. Probably one of the few times I’ve ever finished a body lotion 😛

The biggest problem I face is where to find it 😛 I do wish Esmeria would be sold in more accessible pharmacies. I think I’ll try some of the other products soon. They do have a full range of skincare and bath and body products 🙂

Have you tried anything from Esmeria that you think I should give a shot?

Paris B

Esmeria Intensive Body Cream was purchased at about RM25 and I have seen it at VitaCare and Caring pharmacy

Ingredients: Aqua (water), simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) oil, sorbitan olivate, cetearyl olivate, macadamia ternifolia oil, glycerin, butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter, sucrose polysoyate, opuntia streptacantha extract, saccharide isomerate, d-pathenol, phenoxyethanol, fucus serratus extract, acsophylium nodosum extract, enteromorpha compressa extract, palmaria palmata extract, xanthan gum, allantoin, bisabolol, tocotrienol (vitamin E), ethylhexylglycerin, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) extract, cananga odorata (ylang ylang) oil, chamaemelum nobile (roman chamomile) oil

Note: This product has been discontinued. Pity! 🙁

I hope this helps – it’ll help moisturize the skin in any event. Docs usually give steroid creams

Have your sister tried Dr Ranjit ? I went for his consultation and my skin problem is okay now. His clinic is over-flowing with patients. Do let me know if you need the contact.

Oh by the way.. I do agree with you that this brand is darn elusive because usually good products that’s Malaysian owned have pretty good export value as well 😉

But it’d be nice if us locals had access to it too 🙂 well let’s hope we see more of this brand in the future. Am told its a very small outfit so perhaps expansion is a work in progress 🙂

I’ve used their tea tree cream (like for mosquito bites/rashes) and i really liked it. Unfortunately, i don’t see it around enough to pick up their other stuff. they should really just get into Watsons and Guardian… and even have counters in department stores… or something.

I’m already using my 2nd tube. hehe. awesome body cream. And the scent is ylang ylang, which I love 😀 the SOS cream is the antiseptic scream. it helped me loads with some severe bug bites that I suffered from few weeks back. andrew loves it to help treat his boils.

Hi, thank you for the review. I here you on the fact that ESMERIA is hard to find and we are working on that. ESMERIA is produced by i-green and we have been concentrating on our Buds for Baby brand. However we are re-formulating ESMERIA to be certified organic by EcoCert. The new range will be launched in cosmoprof asia this November and we hope it will be more widely available then. By the way you can also find it in Jusco wellness pharmacy.

Hi! I have tried Esmeria’s face wash and face scrub. Then, it was not Esmeria. It was another name which I cannot remember. The face wash and scrub are awesome! They can last quite long for such a small size. The face wash and scrub did not make my skin feel tight. Some people might find the scrub a bit coarse compared with other face scrubs. Do give them a try! 🙂

I think I saw it!! There is a Vitacare so near to me, and I go there to buy fresh Nubian Goat Milk almost everyday.

Malaysia does have a secret stash of brands that really seem to work and I’ve never seen before…

For example, there is this Safia Gold brand in Carrefour… I checked the ingredients for the eye cream, and it looks as good as Olay/L’oreal kind! (But eye cream only.)

And I am currently using the SkinZ serum, cos I’ve watched too much TV here… I think it works!! There is still Nutox and Nanowhite that I haven’t try… …

I think M’sia has a little bit of an unknown treasure trove that Singapore doesn’t… =((( Cos we are not manufacturing country… Haiz.

And I am truly AMAZED at the number of healthcare supplements that looks quality enough, such as those oat protein drink or NH Collagen you posted about… Ours are mostly US imports at astronomical prices.
