Ok… I made up the title 😛
But don’t you think it looks like Nicole Kidman was caught unawares in a cookie baking moment with flour dusted on her face and on the tip of her nose?
This isn’t quite Ms. Kidman at her most domestic but a look she sported on the red carpet at the premiere of her new movie “Nine”. I guess none of us will ever know what she or her makeup artist was thinking when they went for this look.
Or perhaps the unblended “flour-on-the-face” look is the look to sport in 2010.
Who knows? But this latest look teaches us mortals a lesson – even celebrities with access to top makeup artists can sport unflattering looks.
And the key lesson of all – Look in a mirror before going out and Blend! Blend! Blend!
What cha think of this one?

I would like to think that this picture was edited…. its impossible that no one had said anything abt it before leaving the house…. huhuhu
Hi Affy
As some others have pointed out, I think its silica powder. Nearly invisible until flashbulbs pop
Did the makeup artist forget to dust off the loose powder after applying eye makeup?! What an unflattering shot!! >.<
Hi Jenn
ITs a bit sad that it had to go out worldwide too!
omg! ya know, I think it’s silica powder. You can’t actually tell with naked eyes that you’ve over applied it but in pictures, they can look pretty obvious!
Hey Connie
You could be right! I did an experiment. Will show the results next week 😀
Yes. I read somewhere that powders contain ingredients (is it talc?) that would reflect flash from cameras and some quite badly. Therefore, it is recommended that liquid foundation is used for photography.
Perhaps this is “dusty” look is from a makeup artist who does not have any idea how his work will turn out in photos.
Hi Shay
Sunscreen ingredients e.g. Titanium Dioxide or Zinc Oxide can reflect light too so liquid foundation containing such products can make one look ashy or pale in the flash light.
wow, I am surprised whoever’s with her let her walk out looking like that!
Hey Nikki
I just think it a little sad.
yup! blend blend blend would help so much! even with the silica powder a few more blend wouldn’t make it went worse!
yeah.. i onced experienced this before, but not till so obvious.. it’s silica powder + Flash.. 🙁
poor nicole..
