Crabtree & Evelyn Pomegranate Citron & Mistletoe Body Wash for Christmas in the Shower

November 26, 2009 Paris B 11 Comments

To all readers from the USA – Happy Thanksgiving Day! 😀 Enjoy your turkey and feasting but I should mention that this product here is no turkey 😉

I usually don’t fall for limited edition Christmas stuff but when I do fall, I fall hard. One sniff of the limited edition Crabtree & Evelyn Pomegranate Citron & Mistletoe Body Wash at the store and into my shopping basket it went.

Nevermind that it cost a whopping RM65 a 200ml tube (I got it at 30% off during the sale but still!) or that the label is but a stick on sticker that will likely peel off in the shower. I was captivated by the scent.

The new Pomegranate Citron & Mistletoe body wash smells like Christmas! Here’s what it smells like to me:-

  • Cinnamon
  • Oranges
  • Apples
  • Spices
  • Sugar
  • Warmth

Now take all that, mix in a large bowl and take a hearty sniff. Here’s one I made earlier 😉 <- if you get the joke raise your hand. Otherwise nevermind 😛

The body wash is a thick cream that does not lather up very much but I’m glad because the creamy texture allows it to “stick” to your skin more, rather like a lotion that you wash off. My skin does not feel dried out after my shower and my shower smells of Christmas every single time I use it. I love it!

The nice thing is that the scent lingers on your skin. I use it in the evening and not only do I find it relaxing, I love crawling under my bed sheets with the lingering faint scent of sweet cinnamon and oranges surrounding me. Its light enough not to be cloying, yet strong enough to relax me and lull me to sleep and it imparts a very warm scent that is soothing.

Sometimes, I even get a faint trace of the scent lingering in the morning. Its wonderful!

So, for a touch of luxury, this RM65 tube of body wash makes a great gift. Oh heck! Why let your family and friends have all the fun? Get one for yourself too! 😀 I’m already thinking of whether I need a back up since this is limited edition 😛

The other products in the same scent range are a hand lotion, hand wash, body cream, body lotion, foaming bath sachet and scented bath soap. I found the creams and lotions a little strong and got cloying after a while (I tested them in store). But the body wash is a clear winner in my book!

The other limited edition scents in Crabtree & Evelyn’s The Noel Collection are Orange Spice and Vanilla.

Pros: Light smell that lingers, Refreshing yet relaxing scent of oranges and spice, Does not dry out the skin

Cons: A little pricey, Limited Edition

And its the start of the long weekend here in Malaysia! We get Friday off for a religious holiday and I also realized that its the day after Thanksgiving in the USA so its Black Friday shopping going on there! Do share your spoils if you’re shopping the Black Friday sales – we can all live vicariously though you 🙂

And in the spirit of Thanksgiving, I’m thankful its been a short week this week with a long weekend ahead. What are you thankful for? 🙂

Stay beautiful,

Paris B

p/s Did you realise its just under 1 month to go before Christmas? Woohoo!

I should have bought it during the sale! 🙁

BTW, you wrote about Lancome Genefique a few months back and wondering what’s your verdict on it. I’ve used it and almost finished with it and my verdict – I didnt not see any improvement on my face,. None of my friends noticed any good thing about it either. Am very disppointed. Please share with us your thoughts. thanks a bunch!

      Hi Fara Abdullah

After about a month, I gave the Genefique to my mum. She loves it and is asking when I’d buy her a replacement bottle 😛 What I realised is that the effect isn’t all that dramatic but rather subtle. On my mum’s skin she finds it helps firm it up. I could only use it on alternate days due to breaking out if I used it too often so I decided Mum would get better use out of it. I’m sorry it didn’t work for you – maybe your skin is just younger than you thought! 😉

    Tee hee, good one PB!

Btw I just bought a christmas candle from Ikea that smells of… oranges cloves and cinnamon! It smells like Glögg! (Scandinavian christmas spiced wine). I haven’t given C&E’s offering a sniff, but your scent description reminded me of it. Go sniff!

      Hey Jenn

If you love Vanilla scents, you’re going to like the Vanilla range. Its very… vanilla LOL… Bit strong for me but I don’t think they had a body wash so I didn’t get it. They had hand washes and body lotions though. I’m just looking forward to a weekend of relaxation! 😀
