Review: L’Oreal Revitalift Face Contours and Neck Cream

October 1, 2009 Paris B 18 Comments

revitalift

Wattles should be found only on turkeys and chickens, not on us fine women yes? So feeling a bit obsessed about developing a wattle in my dotage I’m happy to learn that L’Oreal has a product to firm up sagging neck skin – woot!

The new L’Oreal Revitalift Face Contours and Neck cream could not come at a better time. Its a cream in a sleek red bottle with pump, that is meant to help firm up sagging skin with anti-aging benefits.

I used it solely on my neck and you know what? No wattle! 😀 After about 2 weeks, the skin on my neck does feel a little firmer. If you do the pinch test you can tell that it is more elastic.

revitalift

You can use this cream on your face too and presumably it will do the same for the face – lifting, contouring saggy skin. But I chose not to because the scent was a little strong and I’m already using other face products. I’d used the L’Oreal Revitalift skincare line a while ago – their essence was awesome! I don’t know why I stopped. 😛

I have one gripe. Perhaps I got a dud of a bottle but after 2 weeks, I’m having difficulty pumping out the cream. I tried opening up the bottle to figure out what’s wrong but I can’t open it due to its space age design. If I’m diligent and keep pumping at it, I get the cream out in the end, but its turning out to be too much work. Am I alone in this?

A bottle of L’Oreal Revitalift Face Contours and Neck cream retails for RM79.90 (and about RM60+ on sale) at all L’Oreal counters.

Pros: Does what it says i.e. firms and lifts up skin

Cons: I encountered problems with my pump bottle but I might be alone in this

Have you or anyone you know tried this on their face? Gong Li says it makes her face more “sharp”. Erm… I don’t think anything can make my face sharp but its certainly doing well enough for my neck – at least I’m taking the trouble to apply something on my neck these days instead of just making do with leftover moisturiser – not that you can’t of course 🙂

Stay beautiful

    Hi Paris,

Your review came at such an appropriate time, as these couple of months I have been experiencing a bit of a saggy skin on my neck. I guess it comes with the territory of turning 40s. Must, must buy this product to try.

    Thanks.

Glad to be of help! I actually found this quite good for firming up the skin. Don’t expect miracles that’s all! 🙂

    Hi PB,

Its called wattles is it? Sounds like a dreaded desease!! Haha! I am glad to hear about this cream as I recently noticed my laugh lines have become more pronounced. Instead of refraining from laughing, perhaps I should invest in this cream?
P/S:- My neck is also having a bad case of wattles-itis!!

That’s good to hear! I’ve been using the Bio-essence Face-Lifting cream to help with my fat face problems and the saggy neck. However, it’s usually $40 (occasionally discounted to $32 or $28) for 30g and causes clogged pores on me. 🙁 So I’m thinking of checking this out! Does it only firm skin, or does it also burn fat and reduce puffiness? Is it quite rich? I really need to get rid of my double chin 🙁

      Hiya Jasmine

I haven’t tried the Bio-essence one but if it clogs pores, that’s not very good. From my experience with this cream, it firms skin and “recontours” but I don’t think it burns fat – it doesn’t say so. The cream is not very thick but I’d say it would be more suitable for those with combination-dry skin. A friend uses this on their face with no problems but they had been using most of the Revitalift range with no problems too.

    Hi ParisB,

Actually, you are not alone with the dispensing prob cos my boyfriend experienced that too with L’oreal’s guys’ skincare range. I really hate the design of these bottles as I can no longer see how much product is left nor use up the remainder by opening the bottle.

      Hi Tsuze

Yeah I dislike packaging like this too but I guess sometimes brands need it for lux factor or to keep the product fresh longer. Stil, I wish it could open up.

I wonder, when do you really need to start using or buy a proper neck cream? All the extra dollar signs involved.
But on the other hand, a lot of people ignore on the maintainance part of their neck.

Ikkkkksssssss.. scary turkey neck u have up there.

      Hi Bleusnow

Honestly, I don’t think you need a specific neck cream. I don’t know of many brands that create one specifically for the neck. I find it quite sufficient to apply whatever balance face moisturizer on the neck, or perhaps any old moisturizer you no longer or can’t use. The neck is usually less sensitive so if a product breaks you out on your face, you could still use it on the neck and not waste it 🙂
