Bloop de Paris bath bombs bombed!

May 27, 2009 Paris B 17 Comments

I don’t normally come down hard on products because I know they are a matter of personal preference but Bloop de Paris bath bombs seriously bombed big time for me!

Bloop de Paris Bath Bombs

The bath bombs are large globes that come in different flavours and colors. I picked up Lavender (blue) and Rose (pink) for RM14.90 each. I’ve never felt anything more undeserving of my money 🙁

Firstly the scent is strong. I’m fine with strong scents but it smelt fine at the store and later took on a very chemical smell when I took it home – like chemicals in a lab. It was cloying and I had to hide the bag or gag everytime I passed by where I stored it.

Secondly it was useless. Bath bombs popularized by Lush serve to add scent and color and to soften your bath water; and fizz in a very fascinating manner when dropped into your bath water. The bath bombs by Bloop de Paris fizzled out upon touching water and turned the bath water a lurid blue and neon pink with that awful chemical smell wafting around the bathroom.

I was almost afraid to get into the bath for fear of melting away like in some horror movie – you know how in Batman the Joker fell into a pot of green acid that turned him into the Joker? I felt that way when I saw the tub water. I did not end up with any superpowers or super manical delusions to take over the world though 😛

So that made my happy bath plans bomb big time! I washed it off as quickly as I could – I could not stomach going to sleep with that chemical smell lingering on my skin and I did not want the chemicals staying on my skin either.

I don’t have anything good to say about the Bloop de Paris bath bombs except to say purchase at your own peril. I certainly will not again. If you had a happy experience with these, please feel free to share.

Stay beautiful,

Paris B

      Hi prettybeautiful

Yes, just drop the ball into the water and it should fizz up and add color or fragrance to the water and soften the water. Its like bath salts that fizz and its one time use only.

      Hey Monstro

Still here? Only after Baby’s arrived yes? You don’t want Baby arriving smelling of Lush!

I was excited to see the picture until I read the rest of the review! Lols at turning into Joker. Hah!

I’m imagining your experience and I gather that not-bathing and being sweaty would have felt a lot better!

I guess just use your bubble bath, is much safer. Right?

Sigh, can’t use bath bombs, salts, etc here. Can’t even take long baths. Bugger the water restriction 🙁
