Review: Makeup: Rimmel Apricot Blush

January 4, 2008 Paris B Leave a Comment

We don’t get Rimmel Blush, Apricot here in Malaysia, but I managed to get my hands on one from the UK. Believe me, if you can, grab one. You will know why when you get your hands on it.

This blush is one of the most complimentary blushes I’ve ever experienced. In fact, it is widely touted as a cheap drugstore alternative to NARS Orgasm blush. The peach-pink shade compliments most skintones, especially Asian skintones. After experimenting, I’ve found that I look best in peach toned blushes or light pink blushes and this one fits the bill perfectly. And owning both Orgasm and this Apricot blush, I’d safely say the shades are very close indeed.

The texture of the blush is a bit hard, but a blush brush picks up colour with no problem. The packaging does leave a bit to be desired though. It comes in a large square flat pan, with a cover that fits on it, rather like the lid of a box. So, if you are in a hurry, it is possible to find yourself digging your fingernails into the blush. Not fun. It doesn’t come with a brush, for those who like that, but as it doesn’t matter to me, it doesn’t bug me.

I cannot recall the price off hand, but its pretty affordable. If you have a friend in the UK or USA who can purchase this for you, get them to. I’m sure you won’t regret it one bit! Get this blush for US$3.19 on drugstore.com. I told you it was cheap!

Pros: Cheap, Lovely flattering colour

Cons: Not available in Malaysia, packaging could be improved
