Gisele Bundchen Ipanema sandals

April 9, 2008 Paris B 26 Comments

When I read about Kimberlycun‘s Gisele Bundchen Ipanema sandals and how comfortable they were, I knew I had to check them out as my current pair of sandals are on the brink of giving up. Unfortunately, I did not have time to look at them locally, so during my weekend in Singapore, I went to track them down.

I finally found them at a Royal Sporting House store (also sold at Royal Sporting House in Malaysia) but they were out of my size in the sandals. I did try on the flip flops which were very comfortable.

The Gisele Bundchen line of flip flops and sandals is of course, inspired by the model of the same name. The sandals and flip flops are really soft and comfy on the feet. The foot bed was soft and flexible which I can expect would make for a good walking experience.

However, I overheard a girl saying as she tried on the flip flops “So nice, but I might as well get Bata!”

And you know what? I’d probably do the same. Bata flip flops aren’t as pretty on the feet but the prices are.  That said, the Gisele Bundchen Ipanema sandals were sold out all over Singapore and the ones I did find were too small or too big for me.

The Gisele Bundchen flip flops and sandals retail for S$23.90 to S$39.90 and Kimberly says the sandals are RM69.90 in Malaysia. I’m tempted, I’m not saying I’m not. So, I’m staying far far away from Royal Sporting House for now. 😉

Steve Madden ships internationally!

April 1, 2008 Paris B 6 Comments

I was browsing in Robinsons at The Gardens when my eye fell on a pair of darling polka dotted wedges by Steve Madden. See, they were even featured in Cleo Magazine!

The price is RM299 but Robinsons were having a 50% discount. Such a good deal and so cute on the feet. Unfortunately, they were out of my size. The only had a size 6.5 which I think is USA sizes. Whatever it was, it was too large for me.

Anyway, I hopped on online to see if Steve Madden’s site might have this style still in stock. But apparently they did not.

I did not find the cute polka dot shoes online but I did find this lovely pair called TRULY BLACK SUEDE. A nice d’orsay peep toe pump in black suede. Its only US$19.99 (RM64) on clearance too! Not in my size unfortunately and that 4″ heel looks killer! But I rather like it anyway.

I did find out that Steve Madden ships internationally at $29.95 for the first item and $12.95 for each additional item. I felt it was a reasonable shipping price. Oops! More shoe shopping perhaps? 😉

Stay beautiful,

Its Fall – time for boots to make their appearance

October 11, 2007 Paris B 4 Comments

Its Fall or Autumn in the upper hemisphere and with it comes cooler weather. Its also about the time that boots make their appearance in women’s fashion. This must explain my hitherto inexplicable urge to find me a pair of women’sboots that come up to the calf or to the knee.

All that said, I have written in previous posts about my desire to find some nice knee or calf length boots here and I did actually find one a while back at Parkson of all places. It was under Lewre and was on sale for about RM250. Don’t ask me why I didn’t get it then but I didn’t so its back to the drawing board.

Anyway, I browsed around some online sites for women’s shoes and fashion boots and this pair by Frye caught me eye. It’s the Frye Dorado Womens Mid-calf Slouch Boot. We don’t have the Frye brand here, but a while ago when I was participating in a fashion forum, it was all the rage. At the time it was the Frye cowboy boots which isn’t something I could get into. But this one looks so perfect! I saw it on Overstock.com for $269.99 which was the sale price.

In fact, just looking around the shoes and boots section of Overstock.com I’ve found myself falling in love with multiple pairs of boots available there. The choice is amazing! They cater for every type of boot from ankle high boots to those that go over the knee – sexy!

The only boots I possess now and which I do wear regularly (with pants or jeans) are those that are about ankle high. They look a bit like these gorgeous Sergio Rossi boots but are by Clarks and they are so comfy, I can literally run in them. Somehow, I always feel a little bit sexier and walk a little bit taller in my boots. So, imagine if I did have a calf or knee high pair. I’d be strutting my stuff! LOL!

The new IT shoe – Christian Louboutin Fox Trot

June 20, 2007 Paris B Leave a Comment

Can you imagine yourself walking in 4 3/4 inch heels? Well, if you are a slave to shoe fashion then better start practicing now for the latest IT shoe is none other than the Christian Louboutin Fox Trot.

It looks quite innocuous actually. Its a basic peeptoe slingback design, but this shoe, named after the dance, has been spotted on the feet of many A-list celebrities. At a whopping $710 a pop, you can bet it’d better be worth it!

But what’s making it so irresistable other than the price and glamour attached? Its leg lengthening qualities. You see, the higher the heels you wear, the more your feet and legs have to stretch to accomodate it. It throws your back out of whack though, so don’t make it a habit to wear very high heels for long periods of time. When you get older, you’ll suffer for it with back and knee pains.

If the $710 price tag gets to you (as it does me) do check out some cheaper options. Peeptoes are always in for summer and they look elegant. It must be that little bit of toe peeping out that gets people all excited. Its like showing off cleavage on your foot. But watch the height. No point suffering for the sake of fashion eh?
