Battling troubled sleep with REN & Now To Sleep and This Works Deep Sleep : Do Pillow Sprays Work?

January 31, 2018 Paris B 12 Comments

I sometimes feel like sleep aids are made or created by people who don’t really have a sleeping problem. If you do, you will know that a drop of lavender does nothing but smell nice. I have a sleeping problem, and think I’m authority enough on the subject!

That said, I do not have chronic insomnia, which I consider a blessing. I used to sleep like a log when younger. I’d sleep through anything – fireworks, noise, crowds – I could curl up in a corner and drop off just like that. So my sleeping problems crept up on me over the years. It isn’t so bad that I need medication, but I am always game to try any sleep aid!

These days, I go through bouts of sleeping through the night, and days when I don’t. When I do, my eye bags reduce in size and my skin looks clearer and better. When I don’t, I have eye trunks (not bags), and my skin dulls. Regulars will also know of my neverending battle with sleep – it’s something I’ve been battling for years so every night I sleep comfortably is a blessing!

I am therefore, always on the lookout for sleeping aids to help me go to sleep that more easily, and more importantly for me, stay asleep. One of the things that I tried are pillow sprays. REN Skincare has just released a new product, the REN & Now to Sleep pillow spray, and I have been trying it out for a while. Let me also share with you my thoughts on whether pillow sprays work, for those of us who have a sleeping problem.

If you’re aspiring to some luxury in your life then take a look at the La Mer Sheer Pressed Powder

January 29, 2018 Paris B 12 Comments

I have been asked if my focus is only on luxury brands and products. It does seem that way because I am picky. But if I’m to be honest, so what if it is? I’ve earned my stripes, and if people deem bloggers to be aspirational, then everyone aspires to some luxury in their life.

So, I’m unashamedly featuring the La Mer Sheer Pressed Powder today, a new release from a few months ago.

Now, lets get the nitty-gritty out of the way. La Mer is a luxury brand, with prices that befit its status. When they release a pressed powder therefore, it isn’t likely to come cheap. Like all luxury products therefore, it is something to aspire to own.

But more importantly, is it any good?

I wanted a classy, fashionable and functional backpack and The Clässy Gaston Luga Backpack fit the bill perfectly

January 24, 2018 Paris B 6 Comments

Some time last year, I was introduced to Gaston Luga – a brand of backpacks that had a sleek Scandinavian design that is currently quite in. It was a canvas backpack that was different from many of the bags I carry, and I found it surprisingly useful. But also rather larger than I expected.

So, when the opportunity arose again to try another one of Gaston Luga backpacks, I picked the Clässy design and you know what? This one’s classy!

For anyone who is looking for a fashionable, yet practical backpack, I’d suggest that you take a look at the Gaston Luga Clässy backpack. As you can see from my modelling shots (ha!) the size is much better suited to my height for day-to-day use, compared to the Classic backpack which I feel better suits travel.

Let me show you a few more pictures, and I actually used this while on my year-end holiday in Bangkok last year, so I can tell you that it’s a travel work-horse too! 🙂
