Day 5 of 30 : Dior Addict Icone No. 681

May 9, 2011 Paris B 32 Comments

One of the 2 new Dior Addict lipsticks I picked up is this one – Icone No. 681. With 44 shades to choose from, I was boggled and picked this one because Connie came up to me, looked at the swatches on my arm, decided that the rest were too similar to stuff I already own and told me to go with this one. And I did and I’m loving it so thank you Connie! 😀

Icone is a lovely pink toned red. It looks quite strong in the tube, but like most of the Addict range, it applies a little more sheer. On my lips, the pink tone shows up more than the red and I love this one for an everyday lipstick. It goes with everything!

You can wear it with strong eyes (it doesn’t overshadow the eyes) or you can use it to brighten up your look if you are going with something more toned down. And best of all, its a great colour for work – you won’t get told off for wearing something too bright, yet you’d look lovely and perky, ready to tackle your work!

Also featuring Maybelline Pulse Perfection mascara and Diorskin Nude Sculpting powder foundation.

Like Tango, the new Dior Addict formula is sheerer than it looks in the tube, but it is pigmented and lasts quite long for me. There is slip, but it does not have the slip of a lipbalm, yet does not feel heavy on the lips. Best of all, there’s no scent.

Some have commented that Dior Addict lipsticks feel a little sticky. This I concur. Its not uncomfortable, and I believe that this “stickiness” helps the colour stay on longer.

Pros: Sheer lightweight texture, Lovely colour and pigment, Lasts on my lips

Cons: Not in love with the packaging, Pricey

Incidentally, this colour is very close to Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Antigone and as I told you before, I prefer the texture of Dior – I’ll have a side by side match up soon enough 🙂

Did you pick up a Dior Addict lipstick? Which colour did you go for?

LOL! If you like the Chanel Rouge Coco Shine I’m not sure if you’d go for these – the general populace seem quite divided in thoughts between these two.

I like it but I can’t justify paying 90 MYR for a heavily tinted lip balm, apart from brand loyalty. I actually don’t mind the packaging to be honest 🙂

For Dior? Some of the colours are quite quite strong. I just happened to pick the sheerer ones 🙂 They aren’t full cover though but are lovely 🙂

I have both Diorkiss and Model (I think I was a sucker for the ad – Kate Moss just looks so good in Diorkiss! But on me, the colour appears more muted)

Kate Moss looked amazing in Diorkiss didn’t she? I guess its also to do with our lip shades. And perhaps a more muted pink is good? 😉

I’ve picked up #680 which is a bit rosier than yours I think. Haven’t got around to use it yet. I chose it coz the colour bears my name, not that I loved it the most 😉

Aww that’s so sweet to have a lipstick in your name! 😀 But I’m sure it looks great on you nonetheless 🙂 There are so many shades, I can’t remember which is which 😛

Icone is not a colour I’d have picked on my own. But hot damn, it does look like a really pretty colour. I’ll have a better look the next time I’m at the counter. (I STILL haven’t bought any of the new addicts because I still can’t decide which shades I want. LOL)

I love the Dior Addict lipsticks for their range of colors and texture. I have Diorkiss and Arty. Arty is a darkish-bright red color and I’m sooooo in love with it! I always feel like I can kick some ass when I have that color on. I only got Diorkiss because of the power of Kate Moss but I will only rate it as average really. I definitely can’t get enough for the Dior Addict lipsticks so I dread the day I have to visit a Dior counter to buy more of them. >.<

I can totally see the brightening effect Icone gives you, and I think this is a really beautiful sheer fuchsia red shade for everyone who want a more toned down fuchsia on the lips.

I don’t think that Dior Addict feels sticky, but maybe it’s just my own preference, since I do like the feel of creaminess on my lips.

I love how it feels too! 🙂 Icone is a very pretty colour and I think you will like it too 😉 That said, your choice of Tango is quite perfect – I love Tango just about as much.

Hey Paris, I have 2 of these, in Icone and Bobo. You are right, there were so many colours to choose from, really mind boggling, and I finally decide on these two. I had actually wanted Diorkiss in the beginning but I think it’s too pink for me…These are actually more pigmented than Chanel Rouge Coco Shine and last longer in my opinion. 🙂 I have 3 RCSs in these shades – Boy, Aventure and Liberte.

You got Bobo! 😀 I got its lighter sister Tango which I absolutely love. I’m guessing you love the Dior Addicts as much as you do your Chanel Rouge Coco Shines! 😉
