Just Sampling: Shielo Shampoo and Conditioner

February 2, 2011 Paris B 2 Comments

Occasionally I receive a product for review that comes in a sample size sachet or pot, or I obtain a sample sachet from the cosmetics counters. I use it at most 2-3 times so I can’t tell you if its really good or if  in the long term I’d hate it or love it. So “Just Sampling” is quite self-explanatory in this regard. I will only talk about texture and first impressions of the product and there will be no pros and cons nor details. You get a “sample” of a full review as it were 🙂

Shielo Shampoo and Conditioner

shielo shampoo conditioner mini review

I received some samples from the people at Shielo. I lost my photos of the sample bottles so the picture shows the stock images.

The shampoo sample (Color Protect Strengthening Shampoo) lasted about 4 washes. You only need a little to lather up and hair felt clean. The coconut smell was quite strong though, unless you like that sort of scent.

I was not quite taken in by either of the conditioners I was sent – Color Protect Reflecting Conditioner and Volume Volumizing Conditioner. Each sample lasted me 2 uses and my hair didn’t feel very much better for it. I do not know if it gets better with longer term use. It might but I’ll never know as Shielo isn’t available locally.

Conclusion: I’d consider the shampoo because I like how clean my hair and scalp feels but I’d probably try in another less coconut scented formula. The conditioner does not seem to work well on my hair but I do not know of long term effects.

Have you tried or heard of Shielo hair products before this? I like the fact that they are vegan based, natural and/or organic. But it costs a bomb to ship the products internationally so that puts paid to any experimentation I might have with these products 🙁

I love Shielo products. I am a beauty specialist at Bloomingsdales, and their VOLUME line contains the best ingredients. It doesnt smell like coconut.

I recommend their Volume Line if you are looking to add more body to your hair.
