Shiseido Makeup Luminizing Satin Eye Color Trio – GD804 Opera

Everytime I see the word Opera I think “The Phantom of the Opera”. Lame but I’m not kidding 😛

GD804 (GD = Gold in Japanese makeup code) is called Opera because it was inspired by Shiseido makeup artist Dick Page’s visit to Paris where he was inspired to create this palette when he saw the contrast of the gold and bronze of the Paris Opera’s roof against the blue sky.

I must confess that I’m not quite sure where to place what yet so I’m just staring at it for now. Do you have ideas?

I’ll be experimenting and I’ll bring you the results of the experimentation soon. It promises to be interesting 😛

But if you have any idea how I might be able to use this palette, do share your ideas. I’m always open 😀

looks pastel to me and goes well with a sweet floral dress be it white, yellow or blue.

The “problem” is the blue. Its a bit too pastel for me. But you are right about wearing it with a pretty dress 🙂

Yellow e/s strikes fear in my heart as I’m not sure how to use it. I have seen some really gorgeous looks done by some gurus to pull off some bold looks. The other two colors are more workable. Not much help 😀

LOL I felt the same way about yellow eyeshadow. The only one yellow I own is by Shu Uemura and it looks AMAZING with green eyeshadow! I’d have paired the yellow and khaki and been left wondering about the blue hmm…

Blue on the lid, and mix the gold and the black, put it in the crease ^.^

Hmmm… maybe the blue on the inner lid, yellow on outer and brown in crease and outer corner? Or another way I like to make a pastel color work is by applying it on my lower lash line but blend it with a dark color closer to the lash roots. That’s not cheating, right? :p

Will take the guru’s advice! 😀 I was thinking yellow inner and blue outer but was afraid it’d make me lid look puffy. Well will test it out a few times and see how it goes 🙂

I’ll probably use the brighter colours as sheer washes over the whole lids, the the darker one as liner. But yellow is always doubtful 😛

Thanks! The yellow and blue is a bit of a strange mix eh? 🙂

This palette is selling well in SG! I don’t have it but I think that greyed brown would be beautiful for a soft smoky eye paired with the blue to blend it out. 🙂

This is a beautiful palette. The bronze goes well with the gold. And I did some EOTDs on how to incorporate the blue….do take a look. 🙂

That’s a lovely palette and the color combination is interesting. I’d use the yellow on the inner lid, blue on the outer lid and the other shade on the crease.
