New: Estee Lauder Cyberwhite EX skin care and makeup

March 26, 2010 Paris B 15 Comments

I was an Estee Lauder user from way back (I loved the Idealist and Advanced Night Repair Serum). And way back then, I also started using the Estee Lauder CyberWhite range when it was first launched to address my skin brightening concerns. I found the foam cleanser disappointing but the rest of the range was alright. Then, Estee Lauder and I went separate ways.

Well, years later, our paths cross again, this time mostly because I’m looking to try something new in the concealer department. Yes, under the new Cyberwhite EX makeup range is a concealer. Still thinking about whether to try it – anyone has and has a view to share?

Anyway, there are 3 new products in the Estee Lauder Cyberwhite EX skincare range this year :-

  • Advanced Performance Brightening Essence – to prevent and act against spots – RM350
  • Extra Brightening Rich Moisture Creme – extra intensive hydration or night treatment – RM250 (will try this one since I have dryish skin!)
  • Extra Intensive Purifying Treatment- self-foaming mask – RM230

All products are formulated to target common spots found in Asian skin i.e barely visible spots that give you the uneven complexion, surface spots, age spots and recurring spots.

But coming back to the concealer.

I haven’t used their Cyberwhite EX makeup line, but if I’m using concealer to conceal pigmentation and skin discolouration, it might be useful to have a concealer that can treat it too right? The products in the Cyberwhite EX makeup range are:-

  • Advanced Brightening GelCreme Makeup SPF21/PA+ – RM155
  • CyberWhite EX Extra Brightening Concealer SPF35/PA++ – RM85
  • CyberWhite EX Extra Brightening Loose Powder SPF15/PA++ – RM150

Have you tried any of the products mentioned and have some thoughts to share? You know I’m always game to try something new 😉

A little bit off-topic here, but how do you use Idealist? I bought it last year but don’t know exactly how to use it. 😛

Its a serum so use it after toner (if you tone) before moisturizer. Cleaner -> toner -> Idealist -> moisturizer

Yes I bought that bubbling mask which was not bad. Brightens up my face. Also got the serum which was light and doesn’t break me out like sk2. As for the makeup range, I don’t like it. The LF doesn’t control oil or give the radiant look. The LP is pink with shimmers and make me look reddish since I am using the warm yellow LF. The concealer is great texture, easy to pat in and blend, better than sk2. I like it cos it’s in a stick form too. As for whitening properties I don’t see a significant help.

Thank you so much for sharing! I’m glad to know you don’t think too badly of the concealer – I might check that out 🙂

Hi there Paris! I have been reading your blog for quite a while now, really enjoy reading it! Thanks for all the tips and effort.

I have just started using Caudalie’s Radiance range and I must say it is really good. I see results in 2 weeks! My complexion has improved and the skin is also smooth and translucent. You should try it too.

Just thought of sharing since we are on whitening products.

I tested the Purifying Treatment but it was so-so and thought it was rather expensive for a self-foaming mask. I find the one from CyberColors to be better. The EL makeup range does not excite me and I find the new Bobbi Brown whitening makeup / skincare more interesting. But since they are from the same “mothership”, I think their products may share some similarities.

That’s the same thoughts I have everytime – that products from the same mothership will have more or less similar textures, formulations, ingredients etc. After all, why waste a good formula eh? 😉 EL does have me interested in their coming collections. Perhaps they are getting younger

    Hi ParisB
I love reading your blog and hear you are calling for advice 🙂 My closest experience with Estee lauder cyberwhite is their mask. I have a facial mask so i tried it before i sleep. i don’t found it brighten in anyway and i have a benchmark for using brightening mask. if it doesn’t show any brightening effect or even clarity in skintone, i deem it as ineffective especially so a brightening mask like cyberwhite should strive for visible result with its even more concentrated essence and if this result isn’t at all visible then i won’t try other product. FYI. i don’t know, maybe their concealer is really amazing in covering spots. if you are looking for concealer, can consider covermark or amazing cosmetic. these 2 are kings in concealer.

hey.. i love to use EL cyberwhite range. i didnt use the whole range but i can still the effect is good enough. personally, i finished a few bottles of ANR whitening recovery complex and i find it quite satisfying. I don know what is the different btw ANR synchronising and ANR whitening recovery, could anyone declare this? ANR whitening recovery costs me about rm320 which is a lil exp than the ANR synchronising ..

I’ve been using CyberWhite EX Extra Brightening Loose Powder for almost 2 months now and I love it. Its a bit pinkish and have shimmers a little! It just suits my complexion. But its the only Estee Lauder product that I used. I’m more into Shiseido, so I match the EL loose powder with Shiseido’s cream foundation and it look good on me.

I don’t think any one brand has a line better than the other but I do believe there are individual products in each brand that stand out. Also, much has to do with how the products work with your skin. I haven’t tried many anti aging items from Shiseido and the only one from Estee Lauder I’m using is the ANR serum. I used to like Lancome Primordiale cream but I haven’t tried the new formula. I don’t check or reply old comments often so do feel free to drop me an email 🙂
