Going Organic with Suki Organic Skincare

April 7, 2011 Paris B 12 Comments

A couple of months ago, I was introduced to Suki – an organic skincare brand from the USA and available at Pure Tincture, an online store in Singapore that ships internationally. Interestingly, I’ve had a few people ask me about organic skincare recently, and after using it for over a month, its probably a good time to introduce you to Suki 🙂

Suki Organic Skincare hails from the USA and is a pure organic skincare brand, made suitable for sensitive or eczema prone skins, pregnant and nursing women and even children. I was sent 3 products from their line for combo to oily skins. I do have combination skin but tending to the dry (slightly oilier T-zone and drier cheeks) so do bear that in mind when I tell how the products fared.

First about packaging. I love how they come in glass bottles. Yes you do have to be careful with them, but I’ve traveled with these and it was alright. I always have a soft spot for skincare in glass bottles 🙂

Suki Face Creamy Foaming Cleanser S$58/120ml

The Suki Creamy Foaming Cleanser comes in a glass bottle. Gotta be careful with this in the shower! But I do like how sturdy it is. Granted, the glass bottle can be a hazard but unlike many brands I’ve come across, the pump is very well made and it pumps out surprisingly little. I wasn’t paying attention as usual so I only used one pump (the instructions said to use 2 pumps) but although I wasn’t expecting too much of it, it lathers up very nicely and cleans the skin very well, without stripping moisture.

Its stated to be for all skin types and for my combo-dry skin, I think it fits the bill. The active ingredients of Acai Oil and Organic Apple AHA is printed on the bottle and these are the key ingredients to fight free radicals and remove dirt and restore radiance and reduce pore size. I did not notice any pore size reduction but I will say that its a very nice cleanser with a very nice fresh citrus scent and I am still using it and happily so too. If you are like me and use just one pump, its going to last you a long long time. Oh and I like how the ingredient list tells you just what they are in plain English. I don’t speak Latin very well 😛

Ingredients: water (aqua/eau), saponified oils of: cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, organic sesamum indicum (sesame) seed oil, organic simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) oil, apple extract, cyamopsis tetragonoloba (guar) gum, citrus aurantifolia (lime) oil, zingiber officinale (ginger) root oil, fair trade organic butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter, mixed tocopherols (100% pure vitamin e), euterpe oleracen pulp (acai) oil, vitis vinifera (grape) seed extract, matricaria recutita (chamomile) extract, dehydrated coconut milk, maltodextrin & soy milk protein, linalool
