Spa Visit: Banyan Tree Spa at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore – Wonderful for body and soul, hard on the wallet

June 21, 2013 Paris B 24 Comments

banyan tree spa marina bay sands singapore

I’d been doing a bit of travel back and forth in recent weeks and haven’t had a weekend to myself in what seems like ages! I need a break. A proper one with no telephone line and no internet 😛 But since that isn’t happening any time soon, the next best thing is to book myself in and splurge on a luxury spa experience 😀

While at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore not too long ago, I saw they had a Banyan Tree Spa at Level 55 of the hotel. Views over the city state are lovely and I have one for you below pre-haze 🙂 Some quick enquiries turned up a free slot just after lunch. Its incredibly busy so I do recommend making reservations ahead, if you want to go there. Walk in customers like me either have to be incredibly lucky or be turned away. It was pricey, lets make no mistake. but I thought heck! If I’m going to work hard, I might as well play hard! *gulp*

Come fly with me: A Weekend Escapade to Singapore

March 20, 2011 Paris B 23 Comments

Hello all! 😀

I was unintentionally caught up doing work yesterday (I know… boo!) so there was no time (or energy) to prep a post for today. Instead, you’ll get to see what I did last week in Singapore! So come take a virtual tour with me 🙂 I flew down by Jetstar because it only cost me something like RM132 return. I know right! Duty free! 😀

sentosa boardwalk

We start at Vivocity where the new Sentosa Boardwalk has been constructed. Now, you can walk the 500m or so length all the way from VivoCity to Sentosa! Not quite as fun as taking the cable car, but cheaper 😛 You only pay S$1 when you reach the end of the Boardwalk and its a very easy walk. Or if you just want the walk, turn around and walk back – that’s 1km you just walked haha! 😛 If you’re lazy, there are travellators along the way. Yeah I know. Next thing, it’ll be air-conditioned! 😛

universal studios sentosa

Getting into Sentosa on a weekday, it was quiet so it was easy to walk around and browse. I stopped by the Universal Studios logo, where for one moment, I carried the world on the back of my shoulders like Atlas. Little did I realize that it was at about this time that Japan was hit by that devastating earthquake and tsunami.
