I had a bit of craving during the week for paper wrapped chicken. It is quite literally as the name implies – marinated chicken, wrapped in paper and fried.

I’ve tried a few places, but the one I usually end up going to because I like the taste of theirs is at Soo Kee Mee, at their original stall in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, in a corner coffee shop, under a big tree 😀

I learnt once by mistake, that the paper wrapped chicken is only available for dinner so do take note if you decide to take a gander down one day to try these succulent goodies served unceremoniously still wrapped in the paper for you to delve into.

The other thing this shop is famous for is the beef kway teow noodles.

The flat rice noodles are covered with a lovely eggy sauce and lots of fresh beef cooked to perfection – soft yet cooked and generously portioned. I’m sorry if the picture looks terribly unappetizing. Some delicious foods don’t photograph well 😛

Prices are a bit high now so this is an indulgence instead of an everyday delight; but I’ve decided that its a place I’d happily bring visitors to should they visit me here in KL 😀 I suggested this place when Nikki was here and I think she enjoyed it even if she eats like a bird 😉

Its a no frills joint, and you can’t linger there but I’m happy to sacrifice comfort for good food, and I hope you are too! 😀

Does anyone know of other joints selling delicious paper wrapped chicken? Its surprisingly hard to find.

Now, who’s coming to visit me in KL then? There’s delicious beef noodles (ho fun) and paper wrapped chicken to be had! 😉

Happy scrumptious weekend!

Paris B

Scrumptious Saturday : One day in a week where I dish out random scrumptiousness from my other love – food!

I had a bit of craving during the week for paper wrapped chicken.
