Coffret D&#8217;or is a new line of cosmetics launched by Kanebo to replace T&#8217;estimo and Revue. Coffret D&#8217;or will have base makeup and colour or point makeup which is more comprehensive when taken in totality than when taken separately.<\/p>\n<p>I tried making enquiries here in Malaysia about when Coffret D&#8217;or would be brought in but got no positive response. So, I decided to purchase the Coffret D&#8217;or 3D Lighting Eyes palette online to see if I&#8217;d like it. This is Coffret D&#8217;or&#8217;s first eyeshadow colour (there are no singles at this time).<\/p>\n<p>I went for 02 &#8211; Fresh. It is a blue-y palette and grabbed my attention more than the other colours. I felt that the other colours looked a bit too boring or were colours I can&#8217;t wear.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Photo-0204 by parisbmws, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/9116839@N04\/2210645791\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2306\/2210645791_ed24b82b8e.jpg\" alt=\"Photo-0204\" width=\"500\" height=\"443\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And here&#8217;s my review on the <strong>Coffret D&#8217;or 3D Lighting Eyes palette<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->I found that the picture taken on my camera phone gave it a more true to life colour than my camera did. Yes, the colours are light and less vibrant than what you see on the website. They are however, shimmery. So, if you can&#8217;t wear shimmer or don&#8217;t like shimmer, this palette is not for you.<\/p>\n<p>I however, like shimmer so I was pleased. The texture of the eyeshadows are very smooth and fine. I liked that, because in contrast to T&#8217;estimo (which I love) the texture feels much better. Only the dark blue felt a little gritty compared to the other colours.<\/p>\n<p>The Fresh palette consists of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Base shade <\/strong>(left) &#8211; light blue-green with metallic shimmer<\/li>\n<li><strong>Contrast shade <\/strong>(middle) &#8211; light green with touch of blue with metallic shimmer<\/li>\n<li><strong>Lining and contour shade <\/strong>(right) &#8211; dark navy blue with shimmer<\/li>\n<li><strong>Highlight shade <\/strong>(top) &#8211; 2 shades of white for highlighting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"left\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2240\/2221585495_a2801faa07_m.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_7240\" width=\"240\" height=\"231\" \/>I find that the color of the 2 base and contrast shades to be on the <strong>sheer <\/strong>side which is quite consistent with most Japanese cosmetics. The dark navy blue is very pigmented however and goes on a little more matt than it looks. So, if you like strong pigmented colours then you might want to give this a miss.<\/p>\n<p>However, what I really liked was that the <strong>shimmer made up for the lack of strong colour<\/strong>. Once layered over each other, the colours do take on a 3D effect and it looks lovely on the eye. I liked that the blues did not look so strong on as to channel the 80&#8217;s effect. I also liked the highlight shades in particular because when I swiped it over my eye it evened out all the colours and gave a nice polished effect.<\/p>\n<p>All in all, I&#8217;d say that this palette has surprised me because I wasn&#8217;t expecting to like it, but I did. The colours were sheer enough and shimmery enough just so its not over done. I&#8217;m now thinking about getting the purple palette 04 (<a href=\"http:\/\/atouchofblusher.blogspot.com\/2008\/01\/kanebo-coffret-dor-3d-lighting-eyes.html\" target=\"_blank\">review by PJ<\/a>) because the sheerness of the colour means I might be able to pull off purple when I can&#8217;t usually do so.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"coffret_dor by parisbmws, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/9116839@N04\/2221551353\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2173\/2221551353_73e794b976.jpg\" alt=\"coffret_dor\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>What I did not like in particular was the case. The case has a metallic cover with a pink &#8220;jewel&#8221; insert. I found that the highly shiny surface attracts fingerprints like nobody&#8217;s business so it ends up looking grubby after a while. Inside is a large mirror and it comes with 2 dual ended applicators.<\/p>\n<p>I got my Coffret D&#8217;or palette <a href=\"http:\/\/www.all-aboutshopping.com\/2008\/01\/25\/shopping-at-adambeautycom-simple-tutorial\/\">online<\/a> for US$33. Worth the price?
