I’ve never worn Shu Uemura’s lipsticks and glosses for some reason. I used to own a large collection of eyeshadows and glow on blushes but never lip products. So when I saw the new Shu Uemura Pink Collection online I thought to check it out to see how pink it can get.

Answer: Very Pink!

While I was accompanying a friend at Shu Uemura I came across the collection – a very seriously pink collection of new Rouge Unlimited Lipsticks and Gloss Unlimited lipglosses. They are so pink I felt like this should have formed part of a Hello Kitty or Barbie collection. I hope that Shu Uemura never falls to that level though 😛

Anyway, here are some swatches I took of the Shu Uemura Pink Collection.

Pink Collection Rouge Unlimited- RM68

A collection of 9 new pink shades in the Rouge Unlimited lipstick line. I’d never used the Rouge Collection lipsticks and these felt a little dry going on my hand. The colours are pinks, pinks and more pinks. I only saw 7 on display so I only swatched the 7 colours. One of them (PK369) looks remarkably like the the Body Shop Moroccan Rose lipstick I own.

None are my colours – I felt they were too pink and too pale except for one. However the Gloss Unlimited were pretty interesting. I was taken in by the lipglosses for some strange reason – and we all know by now that I’m NOT a lipgloss girl. I think I was just fascinated by the applicator. Have you ever seen a stick straight applicator?

There are 5 new shades of Gloss Unlimited lip glosses but I only swatched 4. The one I did not swatch is a clear shimmer gloss PK310N. 2 of the glosses are as good as clear going on the skin. One is a light pink that for me would just wash me out, while I was quite interested in PK378S (bright fuschia pink) and PK315N (Peachy pink). If I were getting any, I’d get these… just for the applicator LOL…

But what I was REALLY fascinated by were the sales persons who were wearing bright fuschia pink on their eyes with black shadow. I really liked the look so some day I’m going to duplicate it. I already have the fuschia shade in hand – I just need the time to experiment 😀

Are you one for pink lips? Have you tried the Pink Collection by Shu Uemura?

Stay beautiful,

Paris B

I’ve never worn Shu Uemura’s lipsticks and glosses for some reason.
