My little brother got married last week and I was back home, getting into the swing of things, catching up with relatives and having the best time ever dressing up for the wedding banquet! Chinese wedding banquets are the stuff of legends and there is no better time to dress up for it 🙂

There isn’t much to say, except that its a bit surreal seeing my little brother get all dressed up and married. It seemed like just yesterday that this big sister was being all mean and older sisterly to him. And now…well, I can still be mean and older sisterly to him! Rank is a wonderful thing to pull and you never lose that privilege! I guess I just have 2 people to bully now, SIL included hehe… 😀

The red cloth over the main door of the house also known as “ang chai” is put up on happy and auspicious occasions like weddings, Chinese New Year or any happy occasion. It brings good chi and happiness to the household and tells everyone there’s something happy going on 🙂

There were firecrackers – shhhh… don’t tell anyone 😛

My SIL’s aunt baked her a wedding cake and this was the top layer. All hand made. Seriously CUTE!

There was a short lion dance presentation with scrolls of auspicious good wishes for the couple and then, there’s me 😀

I wore a deep midnight blue long dress which I hope to recycle for more dinners so I get my money’s worth! 😛 For my makeup, I went with a deep navy blue smokey eye (Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill #1 Blast of Blue and Dior Royal Kaki palette, Shiseido Perfect Mascara and Guerlain Kohl liner) to match my deep navy blue dress, and paired it with bright red lips (Rouge Dior #444 Red Muse over Shiseido Smoothing Lip Pencil) – because I’m predictable that way 🙂

Just a quick life snippet.
