Nourish your dry, rough skin with the multipurpose Weleda Skin Food for hands, feet and face!

April 16, 2020 Paris B 3 Comments

I cried a little inside when I scraped out the last bits of my favourite hand cream. While I’d normally just buy it, regardless of cost, I wanted to find something a little more affordable, seeing as to how I now use hand cream much more frequently.

I decided to try something that comes highly raved for very dry skin – Weleda Skin Food Original Ultra-Rich Cream.

Weleda is a pharmacy brand from Switzerland, with their products made in Germany, Switzerland and France, and is generally well regarded for their affordable, natural based skincare products. They are a very old and established brand, since 1921.

I’ve tried some of them in the past, notably their body oil, which I enjoyed using very much, and I’ve also tried some body washes, and the odd face product. They are fairly basic products, but generally effective for their purpose.

What I had not tried in all these years is the legendary Weleda Skin Food.

Picking out A Baker’s Dozen of the Best Things of 2013 (and share yours too!)

best of 2013

If you didn’t realise, the brand new year is exactly 7 days after Christmas Day and the anticipation and momentum of the festive period just keeps rolling on to that last stretch to the year. With many people usually taking time off work and just slowing down in general, it is a good time to reflect on the past year and pick out the highlights.

I don’t like doing “Best of (products)” generally. I prefer taking a more macro outlook at the year that’s past so here are my slightly different “Best of” categories, some of which of course, include beauty picks 🙂 You are most welcome to share yours too because it’s always nice to share in and take part in others’ highlights of the year.

Here we go! My Baker’s Dozen 🙂

Affordable Lavender Body Oils I Like from Weleda and Pangea Organics

Regular readers will know how attached I am to using body oils. So attached, I even made my case out for them. They are the only body moisturisers I use. Not lotions, butters or creams. I hate those. But I love a good body oil. I also know my tastes in body oils run to the expensive (REN Moroccan Rose and Antipodes Heavenly Oil come to mind). Not my fault that you need good oils to make a good body oil, you know 😛

But there are 2 oils that I’ve been using for a while that are relatively affordable and which are quite good as well. So I thought I’d let you know about them, if you want to experiment with body oils but aren’t sure about plonking down the cash for the pricier ones.

There is a slight problem in that I’m not sure if we get either one locally in Malaysia. They both happen to be natural/organic skincare brands and I don’t hang out enough in stores selling organic or natural produce to know if they stock these, so if you do know, please feel free to share the information in the comments.
