A Korean Haul to soothe the shopping Seoul

May 11, 2011 Paris B 65 Comments

Haha… I just know that there are some of you waiting for this post 🙂 Truth be told, I did not buy very much, relatively speaking 🙂 I did stumble on a sale going on at Lotte Department store where I picked up some very lovely winter jackets (down filled!) at 50,000 Won (about RM140 each!) so I’m dying to go on a winter holiday next LOL Otherwise, I wasn’t quite into buying clothes, shoes or accessories.

masks from korea

What I did return with a lot of, was face sheet masks. Everyone who has ever raved about how incredibly cheap face masks are in Korea were not wrong. I picked up different masks from the different Korean brands – Skin Food, TheFaceShop, ElishaCoy, Baviphat… just to name a few. The masks are usually sold in packs of 10 or 20 and I got them for between 10,000-20,000 won (RM14-28) a pack. This was a shared pack, and I took out quite a few for gifts and suchlike. Should have picked up more 😛

The Face Shop Sheet Masks – Like and Dislike

April 5, 2010 Paris B 33 Comments

When I picked up my Fruit Bowl Hand Cream from The Face Shop, I also picked up 2 sheet masks to try.

One was the Herbal Therapy Geranium & Everlasting Mask Sheet. It was meant to awaken dull skin and get a youthful glow back. Promising.

The scent of geranium is very strong. Fortunately, its a scent I like and find relaxing so I enjoyed this mask. The texture of the essence was watery and the mask was well saturated but not dripping. Fit wise, I find that the mask is rather narrow. Its too long for my face but not wide enough to reach all the way to the sides so the bits by my ears were denied the benefits of this mask.

After about 20 minutes, my skin felt soft, cool, hydrated and nice, for want of a better word. I did not get a “youthful glow back” but then I wasn’t expecting it. I followed up with my regular night moisturizer and went to bed happy. I will repurchase this one before the sale ends because it makes me happy and relaxed.

A week later, I tried the other mask I bought – Essential Collagen Mask Sheet. This one professes to hydrate and firm up skin with collagen.

The Face Shop The Flower Dual Concealer

January 11, 2010 Paris B 30 Comments

Annyeong Haseo!

That’s the equivalent of “Hello” in Korean so I’m led to believe. I entered a Korean restaurant once, bowed lightly and said “Annyeong Haseo!” and they beamed at me, and brought me the menu written in Korean! I had to hand it back and tell them that whilst I can Kimchi, Bulgogi and Bibimbap along with the best of them, I can’t read Korean 😛

So that little anecdote brings us to the Flower Dual Concealer from TheFaceShop – an affordable line of Korean cosmetics. I first visited their store in Bugis Junction Singapore a few years back. I never understood why they are TheFaceShop and not The Face Shop – anyone knows?

I came across The Flower Dual Concealer in the newspaper some time last year and picked it up that very evening while I as passing the store. Coincidence? I’d like to believe so! At RM46.90 a tube I figured it wouldn’t be that much of a strain on the wallet if it was a dud.

But its not a dud! The Flower Dual Concealer is a dual ended concealer with a liquid concealer on one end and a cream stick concealer on the other ostensibly so one covers the under eye area and the other covers blemishes.
