The Inkey List Retinol : For the times when the budget is tight but you want something effective

May 11, 2020 Paris B 16 Comments

I’ve used a few products from The Inkey List since they launched, and I must say that it is an affordable brand that impresses me. I have since lost count of the new products launched since, but I might get round to trying them some day.

One of the products that I was most keen to try back then was The Inkey List Retinol serum. The packaging was damaged in my first order, but I later reordered it, because I was started to get into retinol serums, and this fascinated me at how affordable it was!

Like all retinol serums, it takes me ages to form an opinion about them, or even to share a review, because retinol takes time to show results. It most certainly isn’t a magic wand, and it can cause more harm than good, if not properly used. Hence, I always exercise caution and I advise everyone to do the same 🙂

So, does The Inkey List Retinol Serum do anything for me?

Boost Hydration: 5 Hydrating Lotions and Serums I love that work (and are mostly affordable!)

June 26, 2019 Paris B 14 Comments

While I’m at that age when products labeled as ‘anti-aging’ grabs my attention, my primary concern isn’t so much ‘aging’ as it is hydration.

It is my personal experience and belief (non-professional) that keeping skin well hydrated helps it look better, and even to function better and heal more quickly from blemishes.

However, I don’t seek out very heavy formula. Instead, I opt to layer my skincare, sandwiching thin layers of potent hydration, to build that buffer.

5 hydrating serums and lotions that work

In my time therefore, as many of you have oft-reminded me in person and online, I have tried numerous products. Yes, if you’ve read a review here on my blog, it’s gone on my face LOL! 😀

And there are products that I return to over and over, or will recommend, because they are just that good at their job.

Today, we talk about Hydration, and I’ll share 5 hydrating lotions and serums that work. And not only work, they work incredibly well! 😀

If you’ve never heard of The Inkey List, let me change that!

December 27, 2018 Paris B 10 Comments

I find it interesting and not a little intriguing how one very affordable brand caught the world’s imagination by storm a few years ago (The Ordinary), while this other new brand – The Inkey List – has quietly crept into the beauty scene without much hullabaloo.

the inkey list brand review and overview

Aside from the few reviews I’ve done of some noteworthy items from The Inkey List, and some posts I’ve come across from some UK bloggers, there hasn’t been a lot of fuss about the brand.

I think it’s a pity, because I think it’s a great little single-ingredient, very affordable brand.

I picked up quite a few items from The Inkey List a few months ago, and I’d already told you about two of my favourites – the Turmeric Moisturiser and the Hyaluronic Acid serum.

This post will serve more as an overview of the products I’ve tried, what I think of the brand in general, and why I think you should take a look, if affordable, effective skincare is what you’re after.

The Inkey List Hyaluronic Acid is not in the least bit ordinary!

November 21, 2018 Paris B 11 Comments

The Inkey List is a brand new budget skincare brand on the block. When I shared how impressed I was with their Turmeric cream moisturiser, I also told you that I plan to have a very big overview post to come. I still plan to do so. But I also wanted to tell you about The Inkey List Hyaluronic Acid, because I felt it noteworthy.

the inkey list hyaluronic acid

By now, most of us will be familiar with this skincare ingredient. But if you aren’t, hyaluronic acid is an ingredient which helps bind and hold moisture, which in skincare products, help hydrate and plump up the skin. Many skincare products these days contain this ingredient.

I am very big on maintaining skin hydration, so for me, a lotion or serum with hyaluronic acid is a must in my skincare routine. I’ve also shared my tip on how best to use a hyaluronic acid serum effectively.

Naturally therefore, I had to try The Inkey List Hyaluronic Acid serum! 🙂

The pup & I celebrating birthdays within weeks of The pup & I celebrating birthdays within weeks of each other 😁 Kiddo turns 4 and celebrated with specially made doggy burgers & fries.

I got him in early Jan 2020 so he’s only been with me less than 4 years but it’s been incredible to see how he’s grown (or not), and how he’s slowly mellowed with age (or not!). He’s still that crazy rambunctious puppy who terrorises other dogs, begging them to play and barking at them when they don’t. He’s a greedy fella who makes me think I’m the greatest chef in the world (in the dog world maybe!) and he still gets crazy eyes when excited.

But I’ve also found more white hair around his eyes and he sleeps in more and later now. He doesn’t even get up early enough to jump onto the bed as he used to 😔

4 years is practically adulthood in doggy years and I’m thankful that we have the opportunity to spend lots of time together even if I bemoan having to bring him everywhere I go.

Happy 4 years boy ❤️

We just started retailing our dog treats @quandogtreats at our first offline outpost! We’re available exclusively at Lex’s Patio Pantry @lexpatiopantry, a brand new cosy spot in the heart of Bangsar.

Housed at the base of Kapas Condominium, (enter from Jalan Penaga), you’ll find the brand new Lex’s Patio Pantry, a curated grocer with pantry staples and a little cafe set up offering breakfast and lunch. It’s a lovely spot that is quiet and green, filled with all sorts of wonderful goodies, and is best of all, pet friendly! This explains my lack of updates generally. Been very busy preparing for this, and amazingly enough, moving operations again! It’s a long sucky story but it might have just turned out for the best for us so as they say about windows opening and closing, sometimes you just have to go with the flow and look for the open window when doors close.
