Hello peeps! I usually fall off the face of the earth for a little longer than this but a lot’s been happening out there, so I figured it was time I made my reappearance like that proverbial bad penny! LOL! And just in time for Autumn, Halloween and all the pumpkin spice flavours that abound is The Body Shop Vanilla Pumpkin Body Butter.

The Vanilla Pumpkin scent isn’t new, it was introduced last year, 2017, I believe. But it makes its appearance at this time of year in a brand new limited edition packaging, that is at once not only autumnal, but Halloween appropriate 😀

Sometimes, a product from a well-known brand surprises you with its efficacy. And it’s times like that that you find a little vindication in not always going for everything niche and expensive. A product I’d been meaning to share is The Body Shop Ethiopian Honey Deep Nourishing Mask.

This wasn’t love at first sight though. I ran into problems the first few times I used it, and there wasn’t a lot of information out there about how to address them. So, enter me! PB to the rescue! LOL 😀

The Body Shop Ethiopian Honey Deep Nourishing Mask is one of the masks available in their mask wardrobe. I’d been quite fascinated by them for a while, and I’ve been told that the clay masks are quite good. They are quite affordable too, which is useful when you have to slather on a product generously.

But when I was shopping around before this, my eye was drawn to the Ethiopian Honey mask, simply because I like using products with honey. They are always soothing to the skin, hydrating and nourishing. All good stuff! So home I traipsed with a pot of hunny in my bag, just like Pooh 😀

Beauty hors d’oeuvres: The Body Shop Body Yogurt is a moisturising treat for any time of the day

Back with a new installment of the MWS Beauty hors d’oeuvres! These will be short and snappy updates (I try!) of new and upcoming releases, when they’re available, how much they’ll cost or interesting events. It won’t be very detailed, as my usual reviews are, but it will, I hope, serve its function as a quick update of interesting beauty bits for those of you who might be interested in new things.

I’ll update them as and when I can, and you can find them in the side-bar of the blog. I won’t be putting them in the main body, so it’s not too cluttered. I hope you find them enjoyable or helpful!

A few days ago, The Body Shop launched the brand new Body Yogurt. I was very intrigued. The Body Shop was, I believe, the first, or one of the first few companies to release a product called “body butter”. Today, that is synonymous with a thick body cream for dry skin.

Now, there is Body Yogurt!

Battling troubled sleep with REN & Now To Sleep and This Works Deep Sleep : Do Pillow Sprays Work?

I sometimes feel like sleep aids are made or created by people who don’t really have a sleeping problem. If you do, you will know that a drop of lavender does nothing but smell nice. I have a sleeping problem, and think I’m authority enough on the subject!

That said, I do not have chronic insomnia, which I consider a blessing. I used to sleep like a log when younger. I’d sleep through anything – fireworks, noise, crowds – I could curl up in a corner and drop off just like that. So my sleeping problems crept up on me over the years. It isn’t so bad that I need medication, but I am always game to try any sleep aid!

These days, I go through bouts of sleeping through the night, and days when I don’t. When I do, my eye bags reduce in size and my skin looks clearer and better. When I don’t, I have eye trunks (not bags), and my skin dulls. Regulars will also know of my neverending battle with sleep – it’s something I’ve been battling for years so every night I sleep comfortably is a blessing!

I am therefore, always on the lookout for sleeping aids to help me go to sleep that more easily, and more importantly for me, stay asleep. One of the things that I tried are pillow sprays. REN Skincare has just released a new product, the REN & Now to Sleep pillow spray, and I have been trying it out for a while. Let me also share with you my thoughts on whether pillow sprays work, for those of us who have a sleeping problem.
