These Tarte Lipsurgence Lip Luster Tints pack some Fever-ish shine

April 2, 2014 Paris B 14 Comments

Tarte Cosmetics, in case some of you didn’t already know, is now available here in Malaysia at Sephora stores. I like the brand. At least, most of what I’ve tried. Their famed Amazonian Clay blushes are lovely even if I don’t think their asking prices very lovely and I have a couple of eyeshadow palettes that I like too. They are however limited edition pieces so I didn’t see merit in telling you about them.

However, one of the most popular items in the Tarte Cosmetics arsenal is their LipSurgence lip tints or lip crayons that come in various textures. Yes, lip crayons again 😀

About 1.5 years ago, before the brand was available here, I had some gift sets shipped in as gifts for friends and among them was a set of the Tarte LipSurgence lip tints. I gave most of them away, but I kept one for myself – the Tarte LipSurgence Lip Luster Tint in Fever – a red. Was there any doubt why? 😛

I never really thought to write a review because, heck! We couldn’t get it here back then could we? But since we now can, I thought I’d just share my thoughts on my sole experience with a Tarte lip crayon. Well, let’s just say I’m not impressed enough to buy another 😛

No fear of the Tarte Natural Beauty blush making you look like a tart; you’ll be a natural beauty instead

October 1, 2012 Paris B 73 Comments

Tarte Cosmetics is a brand I’d never heard of till fairly recently, in the past few years. I’d tried a few of their items and I must say that I do like their shadows very much. I don’t talk about them (I don’t know why!) but the quality is good, and their palettes always grab my attention. The texture is very soft however, and I am always on tenterhooks whenever I have them shipped to me, because I’m afraid of breakage (happened to me once). You read it right folks! As of now, I have no idea where to get Tarte Cosmetics outside of the USA and especially not in Malaysia.

But I wanted to share this with you anyway, because the world is much smaller now and I know that there are ways and means of purchasing items that may not be available in local stores 😉 I also want to talk about one of my favourite brands – I get tired of the same old same old, as I’m sure you are too 😉

I have accumulated a few of these Tarte Amazonian Clay Long Wearing Blushes by now, but this particular one in Natural Beauty is a favourite. The colour of the case reflects the colour of the blush and as you might expect, its a pretty bright red! It does however, live up to its name of Natural Beauty so although it is very bright, it is very easy to wear.

Tarte Crown Jewels Lipgloss Set – Holiday Collection 2009

June 21, 2010 Paris B 10 Comments

You know, I really should not tell you about items you can no longer get. More so when I dismantled the packaging, distributed most of the colours that came with it and only kept a couple for myself.

I really shouldn’t!

But heck, why not? 😛 Since this was limited edition for Christmas 2009 I’ll keep it brief.

These Tarte mini lipglosses are da bomb! I got a lovely friend to pick it up for me from the Sephora sale last year ostensibly for gifts. I hope the recipients enjoyed them as much as I did mine 😀

What I think I love most about these glosses are the size and the faint vanilla scent. They are the mini sized ones which are so perfect for toting around. I kept the brighter colours (because I knew my recipients aren’t that into bright lip shades) and they are surprisingly sheer on.
