Let’s see if the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Hydrating Mask provides 72 hours hydration as claimed

February 1, 2021 Paris B Leave a Comment

I have lazy skincare days.

So do you – admit it!

The fact also, is that I am lazy about using a mask. In fact, while I had loads of time on my hands during our lockdowns, I barely used any masks at all! Contrast this to a couple of years ago, when I was using a mask practically everyday (and seeing results!)

So, being lazy with my skincare routine and being lazy to use a mask, I decided to go all out and be the ultimate lazy-bum – use an overnight mask! I picked the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Hydrating Mask with Avocado & Swiss Glacier Water, which I’d had for a while, and want to use up.

Delivering to my skin my nightly dose of Origins High Potency Night-A-Mins

April 10, 2015 Paris B 12 Comments

When I diligently stick to just one cream for months on end, it must mean I like it. Well, it also means I’m lazy (I’m supposed to swap it out for something else) but in the main, I like this one enough to keep using it till it’s finished 🙂

The night cream in question is the Origins High-Potency Night-a-Mins which I’m given to understand, is an upgrade from their previous cream, also called Night-a-Mins. I’d never used the older version so I can’t tell you anything about it.

This new one however, I like. But it wasn’t always a smooth journey, which explains why I’ve taken so long with it. I had to figure out what troubled me and how I solved it 🙂

Empties for Origins samples and Earth Month awareness with Estee Lauder Group of Companies

March 22, 2014 Paris B 16 Comments

Every year at around late March/April, everyone and everything takes on a green tint as what used to be Earth Day now stretches into Earth Month, and everyone takes on an “I’m greener than you” persona 😛

Cynical? I’m afraid so. I do my bit but I prefer to not talk about it because I don’t agree with everything out there and what I do believe in would likely draw the ire of most, so I prefer to hunker down, and quietly do my bit for the planet without shouting about it and being deemed a hypocrite.

Note: 3 samples are pictured but the programme allows for 3 empties = 1 sample (Samples pictured are for reference only. Actual items may differ and terms and conditions will apply)

But I thought a free sample of Origins products in exchange for something you’d throw away anyway, was something to mention 😀 (Terms updated below)

Origins Ginzing Moisturiser : The affordable addiction that gives your skin a shot of espresso and your senses a citrus boost

August 5, 2013 Paris B 34 Comments

Last week, I told you about a lovely serum that makes my skin look well rested, as if I’d just had a full sleep quota instead of stealing some of that quota for my bedtime reading or TV hehe…

How apt therefore, that there should be a moisturiser that gives your skin a kickstart to the day with a shot of espresso no less! If you are anything like me, you’d be a bear in the mornings before your coffee. I walk into the office, and the first thing I do is pick up my mug and head to the coffee machine. Do not even attempt to talk to me before my first coffee because all you’d get is a snarl and a baring of teeth. I’m a bear. Once I’ve had that first sip of caffeinated goodness, black no sugar please, hackles are lowered, teeth are kept away and I’m human again.

So when I learned that it is this kickstart to the skin that Origins GinZing Energy-boosting Moisturizer offers our skin, I was most intrigued.

This little orange tub holds a number of surprises, to me at least. It contains caffeine extract from coffee beans (yay!) and Panax Ginseng to give your skin a boost of energy. Most of us would be familiar with the effects of caffeine on the body. Most of us won’t be able to function without LOL! As for ginseng, it has been used as a herbal tonic through the ages to heal, rejuvenate, boost energy in various herbal infusions.

So here comes the other surprise. With a name like GinZing, and knowing full well there is ginseng extract in there, I was fully expecting to be hit by a strong, musky herbal smell of the ginseng root. Anyone who has ever walked into a Chinese herb shop will know what I mean. Boom! Floors you with the heady smell of ginseng (which I happen to like, mind you!)

But it doesn’t smell anything like ginseng! Doesn’t smell like coffee either! What this moisturiser smells of is…. oranges. Oranges? Talk about a boost to the senses, first thing in the morning!
