According to Max Factor Lip Art is all the rage and you’ll flip for their new Flipstick lipstick

August 24, 2012 Paris B 24 Comments

Max Factor recently brought in their newest lipstick – Flipstick. The concept is a dual ended lipstick and seems to be something I recall from back in the mists of time. The texture too, as we will see, harkens back to the mists of time.

The idea behind the Flipstick, so we are told is to latch onto the interest generated by lip art in recent times. To be honest, I don’t get lip art – please see this lovely specimen from Makeup Morsels. Yes, its creative but I don’t get it. I like my lipstick to be lipstick i.e. enhancing my overall look. I guess I prefer that someone stares at my lips and think “Wow! Red lips look good!” instead of “Wow! Why does she have crystals on her lips? Will she choke?”

Happily (or maybe unhappily if you were hoping to do some lip art with these Flipsticks) the Max Factor version is just basically a dual ended lipstick with a light colour at one end and a deeper colour at the other. One side is frosty (urgh!) and the other side is creamy. In some of them, both ends are frosty. You can wear them separately or layer one over the other to create a different effect and maybe different colour. That’s the limit of the lip art I’m afraid. But you know what? I don’t like this. I love my lipsticks and these just do not live up to anything that I look for in a lipstick. I’ll tell you why and you can tell me I’m a grinch 🙂 *snap*

Bewitching Coral. Don’t you just love the name? 😀

This is the name of the Max factor lipstick I have which happens to be a very pretty colour. Bewitching even. 🙂

And the description is about right too. Its a coral lipstick and its bright. The colour in the tube is a little warmer than what you see in the photo above but the swatch below is pretty much what it is.

Max Factor Miracle Touch Creamy Blush Soft Cardinal : Miracles can be affordable

April 11, 2011 Paris B 27 Comments

I may not be the biggest fan of the Max Factor False Lash Effect mascara but I happen to really like the other products I have from them. Here’s one I really enjoyed using much to my surprise. Its the Max Factor Miracle Touch Creamy Blush which is essentially a cream blush that I picked up from their Isetan Lot 10 counter on a bit of a whim.

The colour I have is #18 Soft Cardinal which is a rosy pink. The blush is actually only around the size of the Max Factor single eyeshadows, which is quite small. Just a little larger than a MAC eyeshadow. Its actually quite an unusual size for a blush. Hop on down for the swatches.

Is it foundation or is it an illusion? Its the Max Factor Miracle Touch Liquid Illusion

February 21, 2011 Paris B 22 Comments

Hmm… how do I say this? Let’s just be quick and simple about it – I like this cream foundation 🙂

This is actually my first time using a cream foundation and my expectations were that it would be oily, creamy and thick. Interestingly, the Max Factor Miracle Touch Liquid Illusion Foundation was none of the above.

This Miracle Touch Liquid Illusion Foundation is a cream foundation that gives the illusion of liquid foundation. Leave aside your notions of thick cakey foundation because this fella is super lightweight! I find that it takes on a slightly powdery feel on my skin, and I really like this one!
