Loving the quirky name of the Mad Hippie Triple C Night Cream but loving the texture even more!

When I ran out of the last cream I enjoyed using, that I felt made a difference to my skin, I felt a little morose. I always get a little sad when I finish a product that I enjoy, yet I enjoy trying new things. So, it’s a little debate I have with myself each time – do I repurchase, or do I try something new.

Often, I opt to try something new 😛 Why mess with a winning formula, you may ask? Because I’m a glutton for punishment, I guess 😛

But it’s always nice when you do try something new, and it works out well, which is the case with the Mad Hippie Triple C Night Cream.

Your skincare routine begins when you cleanse: 8 Cleansers I love that I buy over and over and why a good cleanser is important

selection of facial cleansers

In the past, when I first started having some interest in skincare, I came across a quote by someone that said “Spend on what you leave on and save on what you wash off” It was something of that ilk.

Essentially, the idea was that when we were balancing our budget for skincare, we should spend more on products like serums and creams, to get the best possible quality since we were leaving it on our skin; and we could save on a product like cleansers, because we’d just be washing them off.

I thought it made sense, so it was something I practised for a while. I’d buy cleansers from the pharmacy, and I’d not consider spending too much money on them. Something that was foamy and cleaned my skin was sufficient, never mind what special ingredients might be in it, because I was going to wash it off anyway.

Much later, I realised that I was wrong about this.

This Mad Hippie Cream Cleanser is one of the better cream cleansers I’ve ever used

I love using cream cleanser, which are great for most types of skin except for the very oily or blemish-prone. I only wish I’d not been so reluctant to try them earlier.

I generally use a gentle cream cleanser in my morning cleanse, because I don’t need any serious cleansing. While I understand there are people who choose to not use a cleanser in the morning at all, I still do, as I use fairly heavy skincare products in my nighttime routine, and I want to clean it off properly before doing my daytime routine. Besides, skin just feels fresher after a good cleanse right? 😛

Mad Hippie is a brand I’ve used for a while, and the Cream Cleanser is actually my 2nd bottle. I run through cleansers fairly quickly, and I regularly cycle back to my favourites. This is one of them.

Taking a second look at the Mad Hippie Vitamin A Serum with Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate (HPR) and it’s still good stuff!

March 19, 2018 Paris B 26 Comments

It isn’t often that I talk about the same product twice on my blog. I first shared my thoughts on the Mad Hippie Vitamin A Serum back in 2015. I liked it back then. It was one of the few retinol products that I found helped my skin, and was gentle, yet effective. So, why am I favouring it with a SECOND review?

Well, 2 reasons really.

The first is because I wanted to share that Mad Hippie is now available in Malaysia. I have not tried many products from them (Only the Vitamin C and Vitamin A serums – here’s what I think of the Vitamin C), which brings me to my second reason.

I was told that the Mad Hippie Vitamin A serum had been improved upon with a new, and effective retinol ingredient, and I wanted to see how a product that worked well the first time around, could be improved upon.

Well, well, well. Knock me down with a feather – it still is very impressive! 🙂
