News: Smashbox in 1 Utama, Dr. Brandt Opens, LovingMinerals sale and Something for those who love to travel!

October 23, 2010 Paris B 10 Comments

Happy Saturday Ladies!

What are you up to this weekend? Isn’t it quite impressive how the weeks are flying by? I’ve been mostly working my butt off over the week, pulling late nights and such, but I’m quite happy because a lot of important work got done 🙂 Oh and I’m also thrilled at the overwhelming response to the Celebrate October giveaway!

Now that the boring bit’s over, here are some new things that have popped up recently that you might like to take a look at.

LovingMinerals.com Turns 2

LovingMinerals.com, our local online mineral makeup stockist celebrates their 2nd anniversary with a nice sale. Get a sample kit for just RM10, discounts off kabuki brushes and of course, the anniversary sale! Go here for the details. Oh and there’s free shipping with orders RM100 and up.

LovingMinerals.com Turns 1 with a Birthday Sale!

October 15, 2009 Paris B 8 Comments

A year ago when LovingMinerals.com opened their virtual doors to the public, mineral makeup was the exception rather than the norm. But they have since made mineral makeup and some really high quality products accessible to the Malaysian and Singaporean market for which I’m pleased. Where else could I have gotten my Everyday Minerals Flat Top brush and Handy Kabuki from? And not to mention the Lumiere Concealer – I’d had my Lumiere Cosmetics order go missing once so I’d much rather deal with local sellers now.

Anyway, by way of a Thank You, Lovingminerals.com will be having loads of specials starting from today 15 October 2009. Just click the ONE Specials and shop away. Here’s whats on offer:-

  • Mineral Makeup Sample kit for those new to mineral makeup – RM10
  • Loving Sample Kit – Usual RM30 now RM25

There will be different promotions on different days which makes it all really exciting. The only problem will be to hit the RM100 treshold to get free shipping! So I guess that’s where your friends come in 🙂

There is also an ongoing birthday sale on the site for big discounts off full size items. While mineral makeup isn’t quite my cup of char some of those colours are really tempting me.

Enjoy shopping and do share what you got! 🙂

LovingMinerals Handy Kabuki – A pretty handy little tool!

September 10, 2009 Paris B 14 Comments

I was pleasantly surprised to know that local mineral makeup distributor LovingMinerals.com has designed their own kabuki brush aptly named Handy Kabuki! Unlike the normal short handled kabuki brushes, I found the brush head slightly less compact and dense – and that is a GOOD thing!

You see, a slightly more pliable brush head means that it will not apply powder as thickly as a regular dense kabuki brush, and it can be applied towards a myriad of uses. I can use this one Handy Kabuki to do my whole face! Let me tell you how 🙂

Handy Kabuki for powder foundation

If you use mineral powder foundation, this operates the same way as the regular kabuki brush. You swirl the powder, apply and buff it into your skin.

If you use a kabuki brush for compact powder (as I do) you do the same, swipe the powder, apply and blend.

The Handy Kabuki applies powder with sufficient coverage yet not too thickly so you don’t end up with blotchy powder coverage. Blending is a breeze because its so soft on the skin. The brush head feels about as soft as the Everyday Minerals long handled kabuki but at the same time, feels slightly more substantial. I found that my EDM flat top brush has started splaying which is starting to bug me.
