Usually, when the year end comes around, it is a time for a bit of a breather. That little pause as people go on leave, throng the malls to enjoy the Christmas decorations, and spend time with loved ones while shopping up a storm – the sales! Oh, the sales!

This year, it’s all different of course.

This year, everyone feels a little more uncertain, staying at home has taken on new meaning (and stress, for parents especially!) and shopping has mostly gone online.

The sales! Oh the online sales! HAHA 😛

The year-end festive period is a love-it or hate-it time for many.

On the one hand, who doesn’t love winding down with the year, as people slow down, take time off to spend with loved ones, enjoy the school holidays with their kids, and revel in the Christmas and New Year festivities.

On the other hand, just think of the stress all that brings! LOL! 😀

Laura Mercier has been busy revamping themselves recently, first with a new logo, then a new foundation, and now, a new lipstick! While I have struggled to appreciate the brand’s lipsticks in the past, I have to say, I really like the new Laura Mercier Rouge Essential Silky Crème Lipstick!

It’s no secret that my lipstick preference tends towards glossy, creamy and satin finishes. I struggle to work with matte-finish lipsticks. So, when a slew of new lip products were released this year by various brands, marking a shift away from matte textures, I sat up to take notice, after slouching in my seat, willing away the dry, heavy, matte-textured lip looks of the recent past.

And one that was interesting enough was this new offering from Laura Mercier.

When I showed some pictures on Instagram of the Laura Mercier City of Lights Holiday 2018 collection, I received a surprisingly high number of inquiries about this particular palette. The Laura Mercier Stardust Radiant Glow Palette is a limited edition palette for this season, and I don’t really blame anyone for having their eye caught. This is quite a stunner of a palette to look at!

I will tell you right off that if you love shimmer and an eye-catching shine on the skin, then this palette will likely be right up your alley for that. But if you’re in the market for something a little more subtle, and don’t favour warm tones on skin, then you may want to look elsewhere.
