My favourite hair treatment oil just got a makeover! I might have mentioned the Kerastase Elixir Ultime hair treatment oil before this, and its one I’ve been using quite regularly whenever my hair is feeling dry and frizzy. In fact, I had run out of hair conditioner for a couple of weeks now, and was only using shampoo on my hair. I know, bad girl!

Naturally, a few washes later, it was Hello straw hair!

Incidentally, I’d forgotten about this hair oil. I don’t take very good care of my hair. Again, bad me! But my eyes fell on a bottle of this which had fallen behind my dresser. I was doing a bit of clearing out last weekend and its a good thing the bottle is a plastic one! I applied the oil to my hair et voila! I had hair that moved properly again, and did not stick out in 20 different directions!

Save and Splurge: Hair Treatment Oils or Serums for Frizzy Hair

Yesterday, for the first time in a very long time, I took out my bottle of MoroccanOil Oil Treatment to use. As I noted in an earlier review, this oil was great for my hair in a very cold environment, but here in this hot humid Malaysian weather, it quickly weighed my hair down with daily use. However, my hair has been feeling unnaturally frizzy of late and this oil tamed it down a treat. No more lion’s mane! It was when I was looking at the small range of hair treatment oils on my dresser and realised just how they fell nicely into different price ranges – Save and Splurge time! 😀

I must say here that I don’t take very good care of my hair. Yeah like nails, if beauty blogging was judged on us being all rounded polished from head to toenails, boy! am I a failure 😛  But we’re not – yay! 😀 So I’m a shampoo and conditioner gal and off and on, I slap on a hair mask (usually one of the anti-frizz ones from different price spectrums). However, I blow dry my hair most evenings so it looks nice the next morning so a hair treatment oil helps keep frizzies at bay, and keeps hair from drying out too much.

When I told you all about the much talked about MorrocanOil hair treatment oil, I spoilt it for many of you by telling you its not available in Malaysia at this time. I did promise you I’d find you an equivalent, and I found 2. The Kerastase Elixir Ultime Oleo Complete Beautifying Hair Oil is one of them. You’ll have to wait a bit until I get to the other 😀

Save and Splurge: The Anti-Frizz Hair Care Edition

I have what is commonly described as dry frizzy hair. I didn’t know that until I was once diagnosed to have “kinky” hair… hair with kinks. Sometimes, I find a hair on my head so kinky its curly, and it’ll stick out from my head in a weird manner.

Since then, I’ve found some hair treatments to combat this frizz, most of which I’ve reviewed before this. But here are some I’ve tried and incidentally, which fall into 2 price categories – save and splurge! 😀

Save: L’Oreal Elseve Smooth Intense Anti-Frizz Hair Mask – RM20+

I can’t remember the price anymore as I bought it so long ago. This one’s easily found at most pharmacies and supermarkets and it works decently well. I do prefer the Elseve Damage Care mask as I find whilst this one leaves my hair smooth(ish) it doesn’t leave it quite as soft. It does help to defrizz so I look less of a mushroom and more like a human, although the effects don’t last.
