Inspired By: Chanel Spring 2014 or How I wore Pink and Coral Eyeshadow and Coral lips

January 10, 2014 Paris B 39 Comments

Last week, I received a flyer in the mail with the image for Chanel’s Spring 2014 makeup look. I put it up on Instagram and declared it too pink for my tastes. I stand by it. Ok, so the coral lipstick does grab me a little but overall, I’m not crazy about the collection at all and I’m passing. In fact, I’m personally passing on most Spring collections this year. Pinks, ribbons, pastels don’t do it for me. Wake me up when Fall collections come in ok?

I might still showcase one or two but will pick out the more interesting items. Yet for some strange reason, I was quite taken by the look done for Chanel.

So I went and rummaged around my collection to see what I could do. You could say that I was quite inspired by it 🙂 So here is a quick “Inspired by” look that I did using some items I own. In the process I found myself rediscovering Inglot shadows and how lovely they are. I’m not planning to get more, but I’ll definitely get more use out of the ones I already own.

Budget Beauty: 10 Things I love that cost under RM50

August 1, 2012 Paris B 62 Comments

budget buys under RM50

RM50, depending on how you look a it, can take you far (I could eat for a week on RM50!) or it isn’t very much. RM50 at today’s exchange rate is roughly S$20, £10,  US$16 or €13. Yeah, once we do the math, it looks pretty pathetic LOL! 😛

Yet, RM50 can buy me some of my favourite beauty items or pick me ups, with change to boot! I know I talk a lot about department store brands and pricier (ok, expensive!) products on my blog. What can I say? Its a personal preference! 😉 But there are some affordable budget buys that I like too, and I thought I’d share them with you. I think RM50 is a nice budget friendly amount. Not hard on the wallet for most, and if you have a small budget or are a student it should be a good threshold.

I will pick up a group of items from time to time to tell you about the budget items I like that you could quite easily pick up without hurting your wallet too much. All items featured will cost RM50 or under.  Take a look and chip in if you think there’s a budget buy I should be taking a look at 🙂

Break Free With The Inglot Freedom System And Freedom System Eyeshadows

August 17, 2011 Paris B 41 Comments

Freedom! I don’t know why that makes me think of the 70’s – bell bottom jeans, hippies, John Lennon glasses, holding hands going “Freeedommm!”

But anyway, Inglot’s Freedom System is precisely that. You have the freedom to choose the size of palette you want (smallest is a duo, largest holds 40 shadows), the colours you want, and arrange them in any manner you wish! I would prefer though if they could make palettes or pans for eyeshadows and blush fit into one compact palette. But I got around that! <- clever me *pats self on back*

Here are my Inglot Freedom System palettes. I got quads because I like the portability and flexibility it gives, and I liked the size too. Once I got 1 quad, it only made sense to get another so I could stack them. One note however, the quads, as well as the eyeshadow pans are actually rectangular not square. It looks like a square but it really isn’t. Sneaky! Got more pictures and swatches for you below.

Something new this way cometh… if I ever get round to it!

July 2, 2011 Paris B 33 Comments

Happy Saturday Ladies!

I’m down and out for the count, as it were. I came down with a nasty 24 hour flu bug in the past few days and have been working hard to get better. I meant I got infected within 24 hours – right as rain today, down and out the next day – is it me or are these flu bugs getting harder to quash?

I’m taking all sorts of liquids and keeping hydrated etc etc but am staying away from antibiotics for now. I don’t do antis unless I can’t help it. Still, can’t leave you without something to read or at least view, so here are some new stuff I’ve picked up that you will see reviewed in the coming weeks/days/and hopefully not months 😛

I finally made it down to the local Inglot store in Sunway Pyramid for their official opening last week. Took me over an hour to choose these colours to make up my 4 pan Freedom palettes but I’m happy with them 🙂 Opted for the 4 pans as they are more travel friendly, and I’m very surprised that the pans are a lot bigger than I expected! Good value for money for sure. Wanna name my palettes? 🙂 Inglot eyeshadows (RM28 each) and 4 pan Freedom palette (RM27).
