30 Days of Lip Colours Project: Did You Miss Any Or Have A Favourite?

August 30, 2011 Paris B 26 Comments

Before I go on, Happy Eid-ul Fitr / Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Fitri to all Muslim readers! 😀 Enjoy your celebrations and the inevitable feasts 😀 I hope everyone else is enjoying the festive break wherever you are.

Ah, 4 months after I said I’d do a 30 Days of lip colours project, I’ve finally completed it. Yay for me 😛 Instead of boring everyone by going at it straight for 30 days as I did before, I opted to take it slow this time. Clearly, taking it slow means dragging it out but I’m glad I did, because in between, new lippies came into the picture which allowed me to showcase them (and give me an excuse to use them).

So by way of a round up, here are all 30 lip colours which include lipsticks and lip glosses. I will be on a break tomorrow (I’m presently away on vacation actually) but please come back in September. I have something terribly exciting lined up on the blog and I’m bursting to share the news. But it’ll have to wait till I get back 😉

Now, onto the 30 day project – did you miss any and do you have a favourite out of the 30 lip colours featured? Here are all 30 featured lip colours for your viewing pleasure.

Day 1-5 of 30 lipsticks

Day 1 – Burberry Lip Cover Lipstick in Delicate Rose No. 22

Day 2 – Rouge Dior Haute Color No. 880 Devilish Pink

Day 3 – Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Antigone No. 60

Day 4 – Mentholatum LipIce Water Colour in No. 03 Kissy Pink

Day 5 – Dior Addict No. 681 Icone

Day 24 of 30 : Ellis Faas Glazed Lip L303 (and a bonus Inglot eye!)

July 7, 2011 Paris B 23 Comments

Here’s an Ellis Faas purchase I like and which I would recommend you to get if you want to try anything from the brand. Unlike the Creamy Eye eyeshadow which I had a lot to complain about in terms of packaging, I won’t complain as much about the lip products, despite them coming in the same packaging.

I swear you could do some serious injury with this! Too big to pick your teeth with though…

The main reason is because I can use up whatever excess comes out of the tube, but for some reason, I find this one easier to control. I just twist once and wait for a few seconds and a sufficient amount comes out to allow me to use it. Now let me show you the colour.

Chocolatey Goodness! Ellis Faas Creamy Eye E104 will not make you fat

June 29, 2011 Paris B 25 Comments

A little while ago, I made an Ellis Faas order (overview of my purchase and brand here) and one of the products I broke out to use first was the Creamy Eye Colour in E104.

A word about packaging. The packaging is unique. I have no other word for it. In most cases, I would immediately shy away from anything resembling a twist up pen because experience teaches me that they are a pain to use. However, curiousity got the better of me, hence my foray into Ellis Faas which uses this sort of packaging in most of the products in the range.

The pens are long and they just about fit into a basic makeup case provided it isn’t too small. Otherwise, it slips nicely into the sides of your bag. In a pinch, it probably doubles up as a weapon 😛 I wonder if I’ll be allowed to carry this on board a flight. Might have some explaining to do – “Its an eyeshadow, I swear!”

Ellis Faas Makeup look like bullets but its makeup not war

June 17, 2011 Paris B 23 Comments

Everything I learned about Ellis Faas, I learned from the internet 🙂

Ellis Faas is Dutch – how many Dutch cosmetics brands do you know? Me? None. It is named after the owner and creator of the brand, Ellis Faas, a Dutch makeup artist. Let’s just say that this line is quite a little known (relatively) cult brand with a very unique packaging and concept.

All Ellis Faas products come in a pen form, just as you see here. They can also all be stuck into a round holder so you have everything you need in one holder. To be honest, each pen, from eye colours to lip colours to blush are indistinguishable from the outside which can be quite a bother. Each pen looks like a long silver bullet and feels surprisingly light.

I picked up a few items that you see here from different ranges and formula. The major stars of the range are the lip products of which one of them is touted as the perfect red lip – Ellis Red its called. I’ll just leave you with some photos and a quick introduction to the brand. I’ve only tried one of the items since receiving it, but am quite happy thus far so do watch out for forthcoming reviews.
