Will Tangerine Orange nails bring luck?

February 13, 2010 Paris B 20 Comments

Have you been perfectly inundated with Mandarin oranges yet? Mandarin oranges or “kum” are traditional during the Chinese New Year as the word sounds like “gold” hence synonymous with prosperity. Mandarin oranges are a must to bring along when you visit friends and family this festive season and most houses will be overflowing with this fruit during this festive period.

And with that little anecdote, I present you Tangerine Orange nails using Elianto Sparkling Diva nail polish in – what else – Tangerine Orange! You can tell I haven’t quite decided on my nail colour for the festive season eh? 🙂

Elianto Sparkling Diva Nail Polish – Indigo Shine

December 16, 2009 Paris B 16 Comments

Whee! I’m on a nail polish high!

Must be all those fumes teehee… 🙂

The nail colour du jour is Indigo Shine from the new Elianto Sparkling Diva Nail Polish line. I swiped this on last night because the colour reminded me of a Shiseido Maquillage nail polish I tried on in Japan.

I tested the Maquillage nail polish but couldn’t bring myself to pay for a sparkling navy blue colour I knew I couldn’t get used to seeing on my nails. So I let it go. Little did I know that Elianto’s Sparkling Diva Indigo Shine is as pretty and so much cheaper at a mere RM10!

The pretty thing about this particular colour is that it changes colour depending on the light you are under. Last night, when I painted my nails under yellow lighting at home, it looked blue-green like a Verdigris green which I liked. Today, in the sunlight, its a deep sparkly navy blue that is absolutely gorgeous!

Review: Elianto Organic Olive Shampoo, Conditioner and UV Essence

September 3, 2009 Paris B 3 Comments

Elianto the local cosmetic brand took a step into hair care recently with the launch of their new Organic Olive range of products for the hair.

Elianto Organic Olive

Olive Oil is known to help deal with dandruff and flaky scalps and also to strengthen hair and make it more manageable. You can either use olive oil straight onto your hair (which is a mess – believe me I’ve tried!) or you can use a hair product with Olive oil like this one from Elianto.

One thing I noted – the product contains no parabens and no mineral oil. Interesting. However, like many “organic” products I’ve used, it seems to have caused the skin on my hands to peel a little so I’ve stopped using them.

Elianto Organic Olive Scalp Care Shampoo – RM35/400ml

The texture is opaque and quite thick and does not lather up a lot. I believe there is no Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLS) hence the lack of lather. It does clean the scalp and hair a treat though, without leaving it feeling squeaky or dry. As this is meant for oily hair, I’d say it does a decent job for a shampoo.

I do have one comment – the scent is quite strong and I’m sorry to say, smells a little cheap to my sensitive nose. I don’t know if its fragrance added in but it does not smell natural. I think it would be better without the scent.
