Ah roses, the flower of love. I’m supposed to be on a break but just couldn’t stay away LOL! 😀 Amidst the feasting and festivity, there are times when one needs to hide away and steal some time for oneself.

And just in time for Valentine’s Day too! Haha… But if overpriced wilting blooms aren’t your cuppa char, you could always opt for the pure DKNY A Drop of Rose which has all the scent of a rose that actually lasts, and none of the cut-throat price rises just because its February 😉

Personally, I’m not a rose girl. I admire the flower – its beautiful and the smell of a fresh rose in bloom is unlike anything found in a mere bottle. But its not me. I guess I’m not sweet and velvety and delicate although I could be pretty thorny 😀

So as you might expect, as pretty as the concept and scent of the Pure DKNY A Drop of Rose is, it wasn’t quite for me. If you love the scent of roses however, its definitely worth taking a look because the Pure DKNY A Drop of Rose smells like fresh roses in the dew.

DKNY has launched a new scent… and a Million Dollar Apple fragrance bottle. A. Million. Dollars. That’s like… a lot of money 😛

The iconic DKNY Delicious apple shaped bottle has the outline of the New York skyline on it, and is encrusted with over 2000 precious stones including diamonds, emeralds, rubies and sapphires on a rock crystal base and covered with 18k yellow gold. This one of a kind bottle, designed by celebrity jeweler Martin Katz is touring the world and will at the end, be sold with net proceeds going to Action Against Hunger – a global humanitarian organization committed to ending world hunger. The precious stones may be removed and set into a jewellery piece which does make a little bit more sense than just leaving it on the apple.

DKNY Be Delicious. Hands up who has never heard of it? Everyone’s heard of it right? Now, hands up who has never smelt it? *raises hands sheepishly*

DKNY Be Delicious has been around so long and in so many incarnations, but I’d never really gone and taken a sniff until recently. And Oh.Em.Gee! Its lovely!

I love apples and apple pie, apple crumble, apple cobblers… apple anything… because I love the smell of apples. Even better if there is a hint of cinnamon or nutmeg to add a touch of spice. mmmm….. I have one caveat. I’m not an Apple fangirl … because it doesn’t smell of apples HAHA! 😛

So quite naturally, a fragrance that smells of apples will appeal to me. (psst! If you like apples, like I do, I’ve got a bonus recipe below for one of the easiest Puff Pastry Apple Tarts ever! 😀 )
