New Coach Kristin Collection : Sparking a renewed interest in Coach

February 28, 2010 Paris B 53 Comments

New Coach Kristin Collection

Coach is a brand I’ve not spared a 2nd glance at for a long time. I was not terribly impressed with their latest designs or quality and needless to say, the super marked up prices here. But when the new Coach Kristin Collection landed in my mailbox, I did not only give it a 2nd glance, I went to check out the whole collection online and I found myself impressed.

The Kristin collection is something I can associate with Coach – the clean simple lines and classic designs that was what got me into Coach bags in the first place. I do have one caveat. My interest lies solely in the leather bags which come in one plain colour and gold or silver hardware, and look classic and elegant. The monogram canvas is still sadly getting two thumbs down from me.

Here are some of my favourite designs from the new Coach Kristin collection.

I am partial to hobo bags and the Kristin Leather Hobo (US$298) is a lovely simple design in some great colors. The yellow colour in fact, resembles a Coach hobo I own! The difference is that mine has no pocket on the front and does not come with a separate strap but has a strap that can be converted to a long one to carry the bag cross body. Also comes in a larger size.

Steal a Coach wallet!

August 30, 2009 Paris B 26 Comments

No dearies, I’m not asking you to go out and commit a crime!

I’m grinning with glee because I’ve just picked up my new Coach wallet from blog buddy Giddy Tigress who helped me pick it up for a steal!

The price was further marked down from what is shown so I think I paid just over RM200 for it  😀 A good price for a leather wallet whether it be from Coach or not.

Tough pebbled off white leather on the outside and smooth baby blue leather on the inside with loads of compartments for cards and bits of useless paper that I accumulate all the time. A design after my own heart.

Coach New Op Art Collection

October 19, 2008 Paris B 9 Comments

I’m not that huge a fan of Coach but I do like some of their older leather collections. They were more affordable and the leather was super soft and supple and the designs were useable. I bought mine off ebay (don’t try it unless you are 100% confident of the seller) way before Coach came into Malaysia.

Coach Op Art

However, I’ve realised that the recent Coach collections have stopped grabbing my interest and the newest Coach Op Art collection is grabbing my attention but in a whole different way.

In the new Coach Op Art collection, the iconic Coach C logo has lost its serifs and now look like broken circles all over the bag. Personally I’ve never been one for the Coach logo bags, but this looks odd for some reason. It looks like something went wrong.

And when I saw other related items in the Graphic Op Art design, I was even more amazed that they even thought to put it on anything other than a bag!

Coach Graphic Op Art

I’m afraid the new Op Art design and colours do nothing for me. It somehow reminds me of a sombre LeSportsac collection which is not what I associate with Coach at all.

However, I do rather like the shape of the new Coach Julianne bag (US$428). The shape looks roomy and practical although I’m not sure how practical the sateen body is. Still, the bag itself its a nice shape – pity about the print!

Coach Graphic Op Art Julianne

The Op Art Collection is already available at the Coach stores here in Malaysia. I stopped by to take a look at the Julianne and was happy to see that it came in a very practical all black sateen style (RM2025). The logo is less obvious and actually adds some character to the bag. The body of the bag is not structured but holds its shape well, and the fabric does feel and look nice. It is shiny but not over the top. I liked the fact the inside of the bag was a lovely lilac purple shade and it was not heavy. The handles and leather trim are shiny but understated patent leather. There is also an all leather version retailing at RM2,100. I really liked the Julianne in person, but for 2 things:-Continue Reading

Coach launches the New Ergo collection

April 24, 2008 Paris B 6 Comments

I received an email from Coach today announcing the launch of the new Ergo bag collection. A while ago, I wrote about being taken in with the Coach Ergo shoulder bags. The ones I was looking at were these:-

As far as I know, the Coach Ergo hobo is one of Coach’s classics, which is the first bag on the left. The other 2 are relatively new in the collection.

To boost the Ergo stable, Coach has come up with even more designs and colours. Continue Reading
