Continue ReadingSome days, you trot out your Diptyque and Jo Malone scented candles. On other days, you luxuriate in a beautiful scented room, without having to sell an organ or a limb LOL! I can safely say that one of the better locally made, affordable soy scented candles I’ve encountered to date is by Lilin + Co. I’d told you about them before this so you can have a little read.
I recently met the owner at a local bazaar, where she (I believe) took a chance to call out to me, and we had a nice short chat. It’s always nice putting faces to names in email! 😀 They do sell at the artisanal bazaars around the Klang Valley like Riuh, so keep a lookout for them, if you go there. You can have a sniff at the candles, so you know what to expect.
Not long after, she offered for me to try their special edition Lilin + Co Naughty or Nice Christmas candles. and I must say that they are quite lovely! Each year, nothing signals Christmas more clearly to me, than the arrival of the Diptyque Christmas collections and their Christmas candles. There is always an interesting story behind their new designs and scents. Last year’s was an undisputed winner, I’m sure you all agree! So, Diptyque Christmas 2018 had a lot to live up to in my eyes!
I confess that when I first laid eyes on the Diptyque Christmas 2018 collection – Legende du Nord, I felt a little disappointed. It is still a beautiful collection. But coming down from last year’s with its sleek black jars adorned with mystical creatures, and coloured wax, I felt this to be almost normal 🙁
It isn’t however. It goes back to Diptyque’s regular Christmas offerings – each year, as you can see from 2016, Diptyque houses their Christmas candles in coloured jars, with a back story to them. This year is no different.
