I’ll be the first to say that when CC Cream first came around, I rolled my eyes. I never quite got the hang of the purpose of a CC Cream, and I scoffed (and still scoff) when I come across one. Yet, amongst the jungle of cliches, you can often find a gem.

I’d like to tell you about one such gem.

The Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream isn’t new. In fact, it’s been around for quite a while, but because I move at a glacial pace in the blogging world, this is relatively new to me.

But what an excellent base it is! And affordable too! 😀

Hi friends!

I’m kicking off this new series today, (I didn’t want to call it a series, but it’ll be a recurring topic so I think that’s what a series is right?) which I’ll call “Beauty Scenario”. What it basically is, is a post where I pose a beauty related scenario, whether based on my own experiences, or based on questions I get from all of you curious cats, and we all get to gather around and have a good ol’ jaw about what YOU would do in that scenario.

You might be wondering how this is different from the other discussive “Your Say” posts that I have from time to time. Well, those tend to run a gamut of anything that enters my head from tampons to nosy questions about whether you shower in the mornings; but I thought we’d enjoy and benefit from something that’s a little more focused on beauty, since this IS supposed to be a “beauty blog” after all right? LOL!

I invite you to pose your own beauty scenario (you can always email me at [email protected] if you don’t want to ask it publicly in the comments) and I’ll bring it up the next time around 🙂

This is a real concern in our sort of tropical heat and humidity and while it will naturally depend on the situation and our skin types, here are my picks and why I pick them! Please do share yours – we’ll all learn from each other here 🙂

Slick on Bourjois Rouge Edition Aqua Laque for mirror shiny colour with a burst of cooling water on your lips

If it seems like I’m the last person on earth to mention these new lip colours from Bourjois… I might well be! LOL! Well, I got lazy and then I went on holiday and … you don’t want my excuses. All you want to know is this “Should I throw my money at the Bourjois Rouge Edition Aqua Laque lipsticks?”

Hmmm…. Hmmm… Hmmm….

Do you like liquid lipsticks? That’s because this is what these Aqua Laques are. They are liquid lipsticks, that Bourjois says contains some sort of ground-breaking technology that makes it not your usual lipgloss.

Ok, to be honest, I’m tired of brands telling me that these sort of pigmented lip colour in a liquid form in a tube is not just another lipgloss. I get it. It’s a liquid lipstick. That’s not new. Can we get over that already and stop perpetuating that same old story? So, quit telling me that it’s a lipgloss with a difference and I might even give you a bit more credibility 😛

Right, whining aside, these liquid lipsticks are quite something. I like the pigment and I actually like how it feels on my lips. I think, if I were in the market for a nice shiny, pigmented liquid lipstick with pretty decent staying power and a wallet-friendly pricetag, I could do a lot worse than these.

Finally! The Breakdown of What is in that Epic Cosmetics Travel Kit!

A while ago, I showed you a birds eye view of the epically large cosmetics kit that I packed ostensibly for travel. Firstly, I’d just like to say that if I were truly travelling for work or even for a holiday, I never pack a kit this massive. My travel cosmetics kits fit in 1 pouch and usually look something like this.

This time however, I was headed home for my brother’s wedding and I knew I had to look good so I could not risk a breakout or reactions to new products, and I also knew that I’d be sharing all sorts of stuff with my sister who had warned me that she wasn’t packing anything so could I just bring extra? Ah yes, sisters 🙂

So I packed full sizes of almost everything and packed exact products of skincare I had been using at the time. The bag turned out to be extremely large and probably weighed about 5kg 😛 I could be exaggerating, I’m not sure. But here’s what went in there.
