Let these 7 Illuminating Primers lift your lacklustre complexion : A recent discovery, but one of my favourite makeup products

February 28, 2018 Paris B 17 Comments

I’m not a big user of makeup primers. For the most part, I’ve found them useful when I want my makeup to stay on longer for something special, but otherwise, I’m quite happy not to use them. I just don’t notice any other benefits.

But recently, I’ve been experimenting with some makeup primers that offer more than just a surface for your makeup to sit on. These primers add that much needed glow to lacklustre skin, and I have to confess that I am a convert! I love these primers!

illuminating primers - uses

I have quite a few, as you can see above, and I’ll share my thoughts with you on each of them. This is of course, a non-exhaustive list. I could well find another one later that I love, but I thought it would be useful to have them all in one place for now 🙂

These are primers I have been playing around with for a while, and didn’t realise how many I’d amassed till now 😛 My complexion has been a little off in recent times. I’m not sure if it is due to poor sleeping patterns, skincare, or just festive season food that is too rich. But I haven’t been feeling and looking my best, and it shows on my complexion. So, every little help is welcomed!

But out of all of them, I have my favourite. Oh yes I do, and I credit it for picking up my complexion when I am fatigued, making me look chirpy and perky when I really look like I should be crawling under a rock. Take a guess which 😉

This pale princess absolutely freaking loves the warmth of the Becca Sunchaser Palette!

July 26, 2017 Paris B 8 Comments

I don’t own many new Becca products, nor do I buy products that promise to bronze and add warmth. I’m a porcelain princess who prefers to not use bronzer, or tan, if I can help it. Yet, for some reason, I bought the limited edition Becca Sunchaser Palette.

And I fell in love with it.

The shades in the Becca Sunchaser palette are predominantly warm toned. If you have a warm skintone, or wear peach shades well, this will look so amazing on you! I don’t, but I still came to love the warmed tone it gave me.

I was not a fan of highlighter till I tried the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Moonstone and then it was love!

March 7, 2016 Paris B 27 Comments

If there’s one product that has changed my mind about using highlighters, it is this – the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector. I bought this on a whim a few months ago, when I was doing yet another SpaceNK haul (Yes I shop a lot there!) and for some reason, I got it in my head to try this liquid highlighter.

I don’t talk a lot about using highlighters, here on the blog, because I don’t use them a lot. I never got the hang of it, and it wasn’t something I was terribly interested in, as in hot weather, it has a tendency to make you look sweaty and oily as opposed to glowy and healthy.

This one however, changed my mind and had me reaching for it often. A true sign of a keeper!

The Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector is a cult product that has its place in many a makeup artist’s kit. I’d come across it during my makeup research for years and years, but because Becca was no longer sold in Malaysia, I never had a chance to try it out for myself. I’ve read that Becca will be, or is available in Sephora stores soon but I cannot confirm anything, so don’t quote me. It’s also available on the Sephora.my website, but I won’t shop there, so I’m sticking to my overseas sources which are infinitely more reliable 🙂

But what is it about this Becca highlighter that had me changing my mind about using a highlighter?

Finally! The Breakdown of What is in that Epic Cosmetics Travel Kit!

June 6, 2012 Paris B 72 Comments

A while ago, I showed you a birds eye view of the epically large cosmetics kit that I packed ostensibly for travel. Firstly, I’d just like to say that if I were truly travelling for work or even for a holiday, I never pack a kit this massive. My travel cosmetics kits fit in 1 pouch and usually look something like this.

This time however, I was headed home for my brother’s wedding and I knew I had to look good so I could not risk a breakout or reactions to new products, and I also knew that I’d be sharing all sorts of stuff with my sister who had warned me that she wasn’t packing anything so could I just bring extra? Ah yes, sisters 🙂

So I packed full sizes of almost everything and packed exact products of skincare I had been using at the time. The bag turned out to be extremely large and probably weighed about 5kg 😛 I could be exaggerating, I’m not sure. But here’s what went in there.
