30 Days of Lip Colours Project: Did You Miss Any Or Have A Favourite?

August 30, 2011 Paris B 26 Comments

Before I go on, Happy Eid-ul Fitr / Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Fitri to all Muslim readers! 😀 Enjoy your celebrations and the inevitable feasts 😀 I hope everyone else is enjoying the festive break wherever you are.

Ah, 4 months after I said I’d do a 30 Days of lip colours project, I’ve finally completed it. Yay for me 😛 Instead of boring everyone by going at it straight for 30 days as I did before, I opted to take it slow this time. Clearly, taking it slow means dragging it out but I’m glad I did, because in between, new lippies came into the picture which allowed me to showcase them (and give me an excuse to use them).

So by way of a round up, here are all 30 lip colours which include lipsticks and lip glosses. I will be on a break tomorrow (I’m presently away on vacation actually) but please come back in September. I have something terribly exciting lined up on the blog and I’m bursting to share the news. But it’ll have to wait till I get back 😉

Now, onto the 30 day project – did you miss any and do you have a favourite out of the 30 lip colours featured? Here are all 30 featured lip colours for your viewing pleasure.

Day 1-5 of 30 lipsticks

Day 1 – Burberry Lip Cover Lipstick in Delicate Rose No. 22

Day 2 – Rouge Dior Haute Color No. 880 Devilish Pink

Day 3 – Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Antigone No. 60

Day 4 – Mentholatum LipIce Water Colour in No. 03 Kissy Pink

Day 5 – Dior Addict No. 681 Icone

Day 23 of 30: Barry M Lip Lacquer Crayon Scarlet (absolutely decadent!)

July 1, 2011 Paris B 45 Comments

Its been a while since we’ve featured a red red lip. Never a better time than now, and never a better time than a Fri-i-day! 😀 Will you join me in pulling out a red lip colour to celebrate the onset of the weekend?

Ooh did I see you reach for your sunnies? Isn’t that just such a bright red? Yes, I can just see you back there cringing and going “Nooo! I can’t wear this!” And yeah I thought so too.

I picked this one up from Superdrug in the UK last year and I wasn’t too sure about it initially. But it was late autumn and it was dark early and I was feeling morose so an inexpensive red lip seemed like a good idea. But you know what? I’m really glad I got it because its one of the brightest longest lasting reds I own!

Review: Barry M Dazzle Dusts bedazzle me!

May 18, 2009 Paris B 26 Comments

A while ago, I went through a loose powder eyeshadow phase. I actually still enjoy using loose powder eyeshadow although its not something many like due to the fussiness. I’ve found that for high shimmer, nothing beats loose powder eyeshadow. It was during this phase that I discovered Barry M Cosmetics and the wonderful dazzling Barry M Dazzle Dusts.

Barry M Dazzle Dusts

Barry M is a brand from the UK and found in Boots and Superdrug pharmacies (at hefty discounts sometimes). I was previously told it was also available in Topshop but I’m not sure if it still is anymore. When I was getting people to get it for me, it was quite hard to find to my surprise. It might now be easier.

Anyway, Dazzle Dusts are super shimmery loose powder eyeshadows that pack a punch if shimmer’s your thing. They come in tiny little glass pots (I’m serious – its tiny!) and I always use my finger to apply because it picks up the product better. I saw that the swatches on the Barry M website look quite different from the actual product, so here’s a picture of how my Dazzle Dusts look. A lovely friend got most of them for me from London and dropped them off here in KL on her way home to Australia – I tell you, this is truly what globalization is all about! 😀 Read on for colours and swatches.

Pigment powders and loose powder eyeshadows

May 29, 2008 Paris B 13 Comments

I was introduced to pigments and loose eyeshadows about 2 years ago and in the process I built up quite a collection of them. I then got to wondering what the difference was between pigments and loose powder eyeshadows and why some companies called them such.

MAC Cosmetics as most will know, sell pigments. These are jars of loose pigment powder that you can use not only as eyeshadow, but also for lips and face. Originally, these were supposed to be the basic ingredient of coloured makeup. Mix it with clear gloss and you get your custom coloured gloss. Use it on cheeks and you get a blush. Continue Reading
