New! Aesop assembles A Futurist Assembly for their Gift Kits 2013-2014

November 8, 2013 Paris B 16 Comments

We’re into November which means one thing – you know what that is right? Christmas Gift sets are here! Brands will start rolling out their Christmas gift sets in stores and I’ll have a few to show you as we go along. Let’s kick things off with something from skincare brand, Aesop.

On Press day, when I saw this, I have to admit I had no idea where anything was going. What seems like a typographical mess actually isn’t. It’s art. Who’d have thought eh? The Aesop gift kits this year, themed A Futurist Assembly, have the central theme of Futurism, an artistic and social movement originating in Italy in the early 20th century. You can read more about it in gist here because I can’t explain it 😛 Not having much of an appreciation for art (I tend to favour the Classics where people looked like people and things looked like things, you know what I mean?) it is something that is a little lost on me.

However, there is one thing I like about the Aesop gift kits this year.

New! Aesop collaborates with Marimekko, Introduces a mouthwash and adds on a Parsley Seed Antioxidant Hydrator

May 3, 2013 Paris B 24 Comments

Australian brand Aesop has been bringing in some new products into the local market, some of which are quite interesting. For example, mouthwash. Outside of the pharmacy aisles, how many skincare and cosmetics brands do you know have developed a mouthwash? Oral hygiene is just as important as having good skin so I found this one amusing and fascinating.

Let me just show you the new additions to the Aesop skincare range quickly and tell you a little about them. Incidentally, we have something for the face, the body and oral hygiene too! 😀

New! Aesop introduces Reverence Hand Care and sets up their signature flagship store in Malaysia

September 21, 2012 Paris B 11 Comments

Just when I openly declare love for a hand cream, suddenly I get inundated with hand creams from different brands proclaiming that they will quite easily convince me to love them too LOL! Its funny isn’t it? Maybe I should start declaring my love for the Chanel Classic Flap. Wonder if anyone will start inundating me with bags too… hmm… wishful thinking huh? 😉

Bags aside, Aesop will be retailing a new hand care range in stores (including their new Flagship store pictured below) from October 2012 onwards. This is the Reverence Hand Care range and comes in a Hand Balm and Hand Wash.

I tried the Resurrection Hand Balm a while back (got a sample sachet of it) and I quite liked how not sticky it was. The new Reverence Aromatique Hand Balm is a little more intense in its formula, in that it contains Lactic Acid for gentle exfoliation and hydration of skin. The texture is a little thicker than the Resurrection Hand Balm but once it absorbs, hands feel lovely and soft. The smell is, quite typical of Aesop, soothing and botanical.

The Reverence Hand Wash is an exfoliating hand wash that contains pumice so you scrub your hands as you wash it. It feels quite gentle and non abrasive. Both these products are new on the shelves and will be available at all Aesop counters, as well as their Flagship store at Pavilion KL. I have a few photos of the store here for your viewing pleasure 🙂

New! Aesop Black Label Hair Care : It smells so good you never want to stop washing your hair!

June 8, 2012 Paris B 30 Comments

How familiar are you with the Australian brand Aesop? I was always aware about it, but I’d never really used many things from the brand. The one or two things I did try (I still use the Parsley Seed Cleansing Oil some days as well as the Primrose Facial Cleansing Masque) I did quite like. I particularly like the herbal scent and the essential oils that are infused in Aesop’s products which are botanical based.

With my slightly blinkered view zeroing in on the skincare, I did not realise that Aesop, in fact, started out in the hair care side of things. They started in 1987 specializing in hair care products and it remains the company’s strength.

In 2012, to celebrate 25 years in the business, they have revamped their core hair care range and streamlined it, calling it simply the Black Label hair care range. Products have been reclassified and reformulated but for me, its the wonderful scent of essential oils that pulls me right in.

If you are a fan of Aesop hair care, you will be in for a treat!
